I am not sure what you mean by Rogers saying they will release it today...we are talking about Verizon and the link you gave us is to a Bold 9700...does anyone actually know what is happening with Verizon and OS 5.0?
No idea on Release dates, but I can guarantee one thing: Crackberry they will be the first to announce anything regarding the official release of 5.0 for all other devices.
CrackBerry will be the first to announce any official o.s. 5.0 for any device guaranteed
But you don't have to wait for your carrier to release os. 5.0 , if there has been an official release from any carrier you can get it by deleting vendor.xml in ur RIM folder
AT&T: January 16, 2010.
Verizon: January 13, 2010.
Rogers: December 31, 2009.
T-Mobile: January 1, 2010.
...
Stop talking crap, these are not the official release dates... Where is the proof that these are gonna be released? No one knows... RIM do not even know the release dates of official release dates
The release OSs all the time, thats why we have leaks... When RIM pass these to the carriers for testing they either release them or not simple...
RIM said 5.0 would be released before the end of the year. They came out and said that it would be available soon before the end of 2009. Google this for the actual article. so for 8330 and others who haven't gotten a official. you will soon if your name was on the list.
Whats the point of waiting for your carriers to release an official release ? Since a version has been leaked it means it was leaked by RIM and guys there tested it prior letting it go.. Do you trust the guys in your carriers more than the ones in RIM ???
I have OS 5.0.0.328bon my storm 9530 but I saw in Viigo there was a 5.0.0.419 from MTS. Verizon said this update is not official that they notify customers when an official OS is released. The 328 was a huge upgrade for me and I actually like my storm. Any thoughts?
Verizon is not releasing OS 5.0 for the 8330...If you want 5.0 you need to go with a 8530, Storm 1 or Storm 2 for right now.
You call Verizon or go to a Verizon store they will tell you it is not in Verizon's plan to have a OS 5.0 on a 8330 but they will push the 8530. Face it OS 5.0 is not really designed for the 8330's
