So it's been a while since the last leaked/official OS for the Torch and it's dear BB brothers... I was wondering if any of you guys had heard about something new coming up soon?

depends what you mean a while. A few days ago 7.1 (official) became available. I upgraded yesterday....

It's unlikely that we will see to many more updates I think, maybe some minor ones.

Not so sure about that one. The phone hasn't even been out a yr yet. When I had my storm 2 it continued with updates for quite a long time. I know some say it is not nearly the phone as the Torch, but things can always be improved upon. With BB 10 coming soon, I am sure Rim is focusing on that, but a good way to gain back some of the people that jumped ship is to prove what it can do to a phone that is already in existence. It may bring some people back, if things work as good as they should. Baby steps.

I mean like a couple of weeks, maybe even a month since I lat downloaded the very last leaked OS... Actually I'm just hoping they're working on getting the memory leaks fixed... That's about my only concern lol

You and me both! It seems that over the past few days, with no new apps installed and nothing open when I am not using it, I am having to do more battery pulls on this phone then I ever had. Not sure if there is much hope for the memory loss. This seems to be one of Rims biggest problems in my opinion. Hopefully the BB10's don't follow tradition, and have 3or 4 times the memory that they already have, because no matter what it starts out with, it soon disappears

A smart move would be for RIM to release another Major update for OS7. Go from 7.1 to 7.5, THEN BB10.

7.1 is a big improvement, but these devices (os7) are still capable of more.

It seems like the 9850 has a lot more issues then the 9860.

Anyways, to further add to my point of probably not seeing to many more updates:

a) I think one carrier in NA sells the 9850? I know I haven't seen it at all in Canada where I live.
b) Both the 9860 and 9850 are either EOL, or about to be EOL.

With them not making any more new 9850's or 9860's and the lack of popularity, I really can't see them pushing to hard for many more new updates to the software. Just seems highly unlikely to me with bb10 on the horizon and the lack of support we've already seen. You never know though I guess, I hope they throw us a bone with WiFi calling

As long as this phone is still listed as an official available cell phone on their own website, they should keep on offering relative support for it..!

I EXPECT another update (of 7.1, at least) since the WIFI calling feature hasn't been included, when RIM stated it would have it.
