Interesting. Knowing Rogers, they probably put this out because it will be the LAST OS 5.0 build for the Bold 9000. I wonder if the sound profile bugs are still in there? I will give this build one more chance, now that it official.
I had problems with the leaked version of .822. My sound profiles wouldn't work after a while. I went back to .681. I will give the official Rogers .822 version a try (since I am on Rogers) and see if it works and report back.
So consensus is that it is still the same with the sound profiles not working?
Also, I think I am going to download the AT&T version and the Hutchinson versions install/expand them and do a MD5 hash to see if anything is different program wise.
This seems like a dumb build to release for the Bold 9000 if indeed nothing was done to stem to the sound profiles issue.
Well, it has been a day and my sound profiles are still working. Will monitor the situation and report. Memory is holding up quite nicely, better than .681.
Played around with it for a while and went back to 4.6 after the sound profile issue. Also noticed that saved pictures which were clear and perfectly fine in 4.6 are all grainy on 5.0. Camera quality was horrible as well.
The sound profiles seem to be working for me with the official release versus the leak. Since I am on Rogers, this time I did not delete the vendor file and installed in through BlackBerry Desktop 6. I don't know if this somehow makes a difference. So far, so good. I will watch for the sound profile issue.
Well, it has been a few days and there is no problem with the sound profiles on this build (yet) versus the leaked .822 that I tried before. Strange, the only difference was that I didn't delete the vendor file (since I am on Rogers) and I used Desktop Manager 6 to load it, instead of AppLoader.
I'll also be trying a complete upgrade from 4.xx when my new Bold comes in, so we'll see how it goes.
Quick question - if I'm running .822 on my current Bold, which has to go back to Rogers, but I installed it after deleting the vendor file from the Hutchinson file, would they cry foul and say I voided my warranty? Or would it just look like I upgraded using the latest official Rogers software?
Do not install this official release. .822 from Rogers still has the "sound profile" issue. After 3 days, I have officially lost all sounds for my ringers. I am going back to .681.
