Downloaded today. I did notice on the install that you can only download the UK version of the English language. Only impact I saw was to App World, where prices are now in pounds...not that big of a deal, until the next release comes out.
I was really hoping this release would resolve the issue with huge fonts in my emails, but sadly it did not. This is driving me crazy, so I hope RIM fixes it fast!
Well I "upgraded" to this after going with the 5.0 os and had some gps issues... But i noticed that my headphones plug no longer works.... I plugged it into my cars radios aux input and it wouldnt switch over... pandora just played through the phone.... which bums me out because the web browser does seem faster... might go back to th original stock 4.7 os
well I went from 40 to this on my verizon Tour and one of the major improvements I've noticed right off the bat is GPS in google maps. The GPS always worked but it would usually take about a minute or so to lock. Now with .53 it's pretty much instantaneous outside and takes maybe 5 seconds inside! Everyone should upgrade to at least this OS(57 came out public about 30min after I did 53 so I'll probably wait till tomorrow to move up to 57)
I upgraded from .40 to this version about 2 weeks ago. I havent encountered any problems. With .40 my tour would do random reboots from time to time but since the upgrade that hasn't happened, so it seems a little more stable, but havent noticed any other difference. Over all I am well pleased with my Tour!
Obviously, I'm coming to this Reliance release a bit late, but I'm having some issues and hoping someone can help me. This is my third BB forum, seeking for an answer.
I've followed step-by-step and installed 4.7.1.53 (Platform 4.1.0.65). My understanding is this should allow me to input in Japanese, but I haven't been able to. Verizon is my carrier, if that matters.
When I connect my 9630 to DM, it lists East Asian language as an option installed on my device. However, when I go to Option -> Language, it doesn't give any options other than English.
OK, I've tried this on various PCs over the past week, and here's where I'm at.
I followed everything in the original post tthree times on three different PCs, and twice with my device.
When I use Loader.exe (without DM), the language pack won't load, and weird things happen to my 9630. I had to call my BES administrator twice and wipe out the handheld twice.
When I use DM to "add delete" applications, it lists all languages in the East Asian language pack as available, except for Japanese romaji input, which is the one I need (all the Chinese, Korean, Thai are there).
I'm not sure if anybody has a solution to this, but I at least wanted to report back on what's happend to close the loop.
I guess I'll have wait until an official release of a new OS from Verizon Wireless that'll include East Asian language pack.
