^^^ reinstall the os in your computer which you desire to put on your phone,

commect with DSM-> click on device-> update-> when update window pops click on other versions available and from there select the one you desire to upload.
Thanks very much for your reply. I have tried this without luck, and have assumed that's because the Update function only checks for higher OS versions, not lower. Am I missing something?

It's just one of life's little mysteries. It works on some users' PC's, then for others not. (I'm a "not" like you.)
Can you be specific about which OS version is currently loaded on your BB, which OS you want to install, and which higher versions of OS you also have installed on your PC?

Sorry for such a dumb question but its been a while since I downloaded a leaked version. Are there any vendor.xml's and if so, are there 1 or 2?
    Not a dumb question…
There is virtually always a Vendor file in the AppLoader folder. (Can't ever remember hearing of not having one.) However with 99% of leaks, the Vendor file is unbranded and therefore irrelevant

Most of us probably still delete it anyway.
If you want some guidance on this, look at the guide I posted in the 9900 / Leaked 649 thread:

I am currently 7.1.0.649 and would like to downgrade back to the latest version that does not have mic problems, which is either .318 or .437, depending on which post above that you read. I actually have a brand new computer so .649 is the only one installed.

Uninstall all the OS's for your phone, reboot. Install the one you want to install, delete the vendor files, may only be one, C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research in Motion\Apploader\ and maybe C\Users\your profile\AppData\Local\Research in Motion\Application Loader\

After done go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research in Motion\Apploader\ and run loader.exe

Has anyone been able to load it on the p'9981 cause I am having problems. I deleted the vendor file and when I go to the loader it only shows the apps I have installed and not the os.
    Works for me.

This is so f***ing lame that the mic issue is still not fixed! I really doubt there will ever be another update that works on AT&T for the rest of the life of the device. I guess I am stuck with .318 forever.
Lol this is exactly how I feel... I just watch every os for someone to tell me it works. So depressing.

It seems like the battery temperature is higher on .649 then 523 and 569. Did anyone notice it?

I am using .649 on 9860 since last 12hrs. Not noticing any big improvement over .569. To me 569 had more stable signal than 649 since I noticed loss of signal or fluctauting from 1 bar to 3 in my room more frequentlly while it was stable in .569. Any one else notice this?

I'm not sure if this is the same with all devices, so I'll ask specifically for the 9810....

Does anyone know if the wifi hotspot works on this build? For those who are not paying ATT for it.

The only way I got it to load was after I ran the os I had to check off the open application loader and load it from there. Maybe this is because I do not have blackberry desktop on this computer.

For me, having just installed it, I've had this build on my 9380 for about 2 hours now, and I have to say, faster, much more responsive and more device memory available, can't remember now which build I was using, but device memory was a major issue, to the extent where, even if I deleted a font using the method given on this forum, it'd still tell me trying to install a new font, there wasn't enough device memory to complete the action, just installed another font successfully

I just finished installing. So far all works well.To me though it seams like it is a bit slow to reboot unlike when 580 first came out rebooting was a lot faster.also it is (to me) a pain always having to reinstall the (great) 5.0 ringtones that all upgrades strip out.Thats the only differences i see so far.Everything else - Butta

Others have mentioned this as well. Looks like a bug. I can't edit or create word substitutions either, I can only delete.

I am thinking of loading the leaked onto my 9900, however, i am skeptical of the fact that when I upgraded, the option to choose between 2G and 4G/3G wasnt there. Is that fixed in this release?

That feature is controlled by your carrier and not the OS.
