Why won't it go away? I did a battery pull, but it just keeps showing and my red light keeps blinking. It's driving me batty.

Uninstall BBM and reinstall it.

Yes, and if you're lucky, that will work for you forever. But more than likely, the icon will come back. There are many threads posted about this problem with BBM .57 I have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times and the icon keeps coming back. You might have to downgrade to version .33...some people have said they don't have that problem with bbm 5.0.0.33

In any event, good luck! Once you are cursed with the phantom icon, you are BLESSED forever.
