I have Blackberry Tour and am running 5.0.0.484. I recently had to switch out Tours and synced my Blackberry contacts as I have done in the past.

In the past when I have purchased a new Blackberry, when I try to BBM certain contacts it will show the actual message I typed (just for a few random contacts) in the conversation and then a box will pop up below it and says XXXXXX (Contact's Name in Red) Does not have you as a contact. Do you want to re-invite XXXXXX? Then below I can either select Re-invite or Delete Contact. These people have never deleted me as a contact though.

However, over the past few days my name keeps repeatedly deleting itself 4 or 5 times in one day from some of my friends contact list when I keep re-inviting myself as a contact, obviously without them doing anything. Whenever I try to BBM the same message as before will show up about either re inviting them or deleting them. Does anyone know anything about this issue and why my contact keeps deleting itself from certain friend's contact lists?

Thanks so much for wasting your time for typing that out. That is not the case, anyone have any idea though?

By the way what the previous poster said is not the case because when someone actually does delete my name from their contact list, their name will disappear from my contact list. However, none of these names have disappeared from my contact list, I can still see everyone just get this error message for half of my contacts. Also my name has disappeared from all my friends contact list that I get this message for, but their names are still on my contact list. Thanks

No I don't think that they are deleting him, not saying ur wrong but, me and a couple of friends were having the same issue a couple of weeks ago bbm got all ****ed up. Sorry to say I don't know what caused it or how we fixed this issue, try deleting bbm and re-installing it that's all the advice I have.

Your not the only one having that problems. Mine does the same thing too. My coworker have me on their list but when I broadcast their contact is coming back as re-invite contact. My friend having same problem too and we both using S2 9550/5.0.0.607.

Yes that's right for blackberry messenger..
just re-invite them and make a back up from your media card..

Even if you backup using media/DM/email, it still delete them and also causes to delete all the group. Something is going on and we notice this last month.

im out of ideas. please if anyone has a fix, very annoying to have to restore my contacts everyday and lose all my conversations for that day.

So basically what you did was a complete wipe of your BB and a restore of the OS, a reinstall of BBM 5.0.0.57, a restore of the contacts, deleted contacts you no longer wanted, added new ones manually and everything was fine.

Why is it that every problem with a blackberry has a remedy of a complete wipe? Who has time for all that?
Really?
A total wipe?
Re-install everything?
All apps?
All backups?
All contacts?

My problem is not exactly like yours so maybe you have some other ideas. If you are willing to help me, i would be happy to describe the problem.

Add one more to the list of people with the problem... both me and my wife have a 9700 and this was happening to her with 3 specific contacts that at some point in time have gotten new phones and restored their contact lists on their new phones...
Me and her swapped phones...
We backed up both phones,
Wiped both phones,
Swapped SIM cards, Media Cards
Restored both phones,
Loaded contact lists on both phones

Now I'm having the issue with the same contacts... And my wife does not... So could it be PIN related? I guess so... Does anyone have any new info? Do we even know why this occurs? (is it a problem on RIM's end? or each individual phone?)...

Okay well I called AT&T today because this issue is still happening to me. They couldn't help at all but they did transfer me to Blackberry tech support.

They told me NO ONE else had reported this issue to them yet.

So first of all... If you're still having this problem call them at 877-255-2377 and report it.

I explained all the stuff I've done (OS installs, BBM versions, back up and restores, wipes; etc) and that many people were having this issue...

They had me delete BBM and do a battery pull, reinstall BBM and not register any emails, not do any back up or restore and JUST add the 3 contacts that I've been having issues with. And if it still occurs (which I definitely believe will happen) to call them back so they can look into it more...

So if you're still having this problem please call Blackberry...

im having this problem too, and no they arent deleting me.

happens to 3-4 of my contacts, every single afternoon.

any one have any more ideas what it is, have reset my phone, got my network to reset my bis account, tried all suggestions about remote backup/restore etc. nothing works.

I cannot believe that it is YEARS later and I am now having the same problem! Only two contacts keep getting deleted
every couple of days and it is really inconvenient, this only started after I got a new phone and logged into my new bbm with my old username and password. Would using a new pin resolve the issue? Im using android though and both deleted people have bbs. Was this ever resolved?
