I want to try out os 6, but one feature I need is to be able to download a 40 mb file. Larger where applicable.

Does the beta os have unlimited size? Does 0mie's service book work on os6?

If not, how can I do this, if at all on a 9700?

OS6 doesn't have a cap on the download size to my knowledge. I've downloaded 200+ meg files to my sd card using wifi of course

Downloading through the wireless network, yes, it is capped. Using WiFI puts no stress on the RIM network so RIM has no limitation.
