k thanks will try it again, and how do i do it right from the installer? i know how to somewhat get to the app loader... when i did it with the one file removed it recognized the "Pin" right away...?

Never used the media player, but tried it on a file already loaded (comes pre-loaded on BB?). No drop in quality when paused / unpaused

Yes, you can install the software, remove any vendor files, backup your phone by bbdm, thurd party apps by bbsk.
Wipe your phone and re-install by using the install / setup file in the installations directory (probably, programfiles x86, common files, research in motion, ....dont remember it further by heart sorry)

ohw and most leaked versions don't work well with BBDM, so install directly from the installation directory

i dont have the media player bugs reported running this 714 version. ive tried to replicate the issue by repeatedly pausing n unpausing songs and the device performs flawlessly.

Installed the software. Running for the past 12 hours now. Will see how battery usage go. I have noticed that the single option to change to 2G is missing. That was kinda a battery saver for me, so I will see how it goes.

don't really get what you meant. but I still have the options for 2G, 3G and 2G/3G.....

Have it up and running. Running smooth so far. Only differences I see is
1-
2- I can't get device analyser to show in option. When I press "alt+BBDA" a little window pops up saying its now enablesd but I still can access it. Weird.
