Downloaded and installed kind of weird for me, apploader froze up on the "restore device data" during the last phase of the installation. Phone booted up fine though and is working normally (I backed everything up anyways).
Don't notice any difference between this and .340
After a 2 battery pulls, the CrackBerry App has frozen up on me twice though.
Just finish updating and reinstalling...testing time now.
- under network and connection there is media server..
-now we can convert the phone as mobile hotspot..
-feel crispier than before..
- under mail, if you have playbook, there is an option where you can choose to open on the playbook...when u click, message on playbook will open and the phone acting as mouse..hmmmm..cool
The mobile hotspot has been available since the first release of 7.1, many months ago.
The phone probably feels "crispier" because its a fresh install, once everything settles in it will most likely be exactly the same.
Not sure about the Playbook thing as I don't have one.
There are some new features under "parental controls" in the security section of the options, the firewall is also "greyed out" and unable to be turned off or changed (not sure why).
Also, I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but when dialing numbers using speed dial the proximity sensor does not seem to work (it has never worked for me on any OS with this phone). It functions normally when manually entering a number or dialing a number out of my contacts, but does not work with speed dial.
just installed .402 on 9860 over .342. seems much better in user interface and locking of network. Typing thru suretype keypad seems to better and key position for tap hasbeen now in centre rather than towrds lower. more report after using for a day.
The browser seems improved. The html5test score is now 275 and the browsermark benchmark score is 50085 which is the highest I've ever seen it. Also, I've always had lag when using the quick reply feature on this forum on the mobile site where only one keystroke would show up every second. The lag is now gone on this build.

Mobile hotshot has been on 7.1 since the beginning. The option to open on playbook has also been available since the playbook received 2.0 and the last update to the bridge app. It also works in the browser, pictures, and documents.
Installed with no issues. Took about 40 mins from start to finish. So far two batt pulls and the batt drain is sitting at 3.4% and mem leak after 9 hrs is 34mb. I will keep an eye on everything and report back . So far I would say a worth update from .342. Have been doing quite a bit of surfing and bbm. So batt drain is not bad. Enjoy the update .

Installed last night over .342 with no problems, too early to tell about battery life but hoping it will be better than .342 that was shocking for me. Noticed this morning that Appworld has disappeared and cannot download it as the site is saying that I don't have a compatible device? Anyone else with the same issue?
Millet, Appword still works for me. I've been downloading my software on it. Could be that I'm been using the beta zone version, but i believe it was updated to the official version during the update
Nothing really improved here...screen still dims off when in use. Browser still freezes. Reboots are still stupidly long (12-13 mins) on my device.
was hoping for a little bit better of a release.
Something is seriously wrong with your phone from a hardware perspective if it takes 12-13 mins to boot. Mine takes a couple of mins to boot at the very most.
I'm not sure what you mean by "screen dims off when in use". It's supposed to dim in different lightning levels, unless you mean it fades out completely? If that is the case, again, something could be wrong from a hardware perspective. My screen has never turned off while in use on any OS.
On a side note, and I've had this issue with all releases of OS's on this phone: Does anyone else's proximity sensor not work when using speed dial? Mine works fine when calling out of the address book, or manually entering a number. As soon as I speed dial a saved number though, no dice. Of course you can still hit the top button and lock the phone to turn off the screen during a call, but I heard this was a problem on the 9800...not sure why it wouldn't be fixed by now?
