The way i made all working good was .. installed this hybrid 9810 V1.rar and once the installation was complete i unnistalled every single os on my computer, then i installed normally the new 258, i did a little shrunk with bbhtools (you can avoid this step if you dont know how to well) i opened the DM and then it offered me to update to the new os installer (258) i clicked yes and then it updated my phone . i've now 100% functionality including mapsmr_chaela likes this.02-15-12 07:22 AMLike 1 - Between an update to DM, an update for the torch and the impending update to the PB, I feel like a kid at Christmas.Mecca EL and branflakes like this.02-15-12 07:36 AMLike 2
- it seems like when you update by wiping and then installing the os as usually most of users does, the loader does not install some functions as well. i did this 3 times and i lost the battery saving mode option on the menu.

Its perfect with all the functions02-15-12 07:39 AMLike 0 - Holy cr*p this boots up fast now. Fastest boot time I've seen with any OS, I'm not going to chalk it up to a fresh load, cause even on some other OS's(fresh load) it took forever to boot. Battery saver mode looks to me to do just what we have all been doing for years , automatically for you(screen brightness on 10%, putting automatically dimming back light on, screen timeout on the shortest setting, and so on). If you already do these things, kinda pointless IMO.02-15-12 08:09 AMLike 0
- I was able to load this version without any issues and I am very happy overall but I just noticed that hashtags are not showing up as links in Twitter anymore. Maybe this is just a coincidence but I was previously on 7.0.0.353 and did not have any issues with hashtags. Anyone else notice this?02-15-12 08:52 AMLike 0
- went from 7.1.0.250 to 7.1.0.258 no real difference felt, battery life still seems to suck even with battery saver mode always on...
will try the 32gb sd card later to see if it continues to wipe it!Last edited by frijolito_uk; 02-15-12 at 09:03 AM.

- Your link points to the earlier release of .258, which threw an error because of the incorrect file size.02-15-12 09:41 AMLike 0
- I am on AT&T and I did a fresh wipe using BBSAK and then loaded .258 and my hotspot does NOT work. It allows me to enable it and pick a WPA2 password and then pops up an error saying hotspot is not enabled for this account.
Also, I am not able to switch from 2G to 2G/3G/4G. Just stuck on AT&T in the radio.
Same issues as .190+ for me. Can anyone confirm that is on AT&T that these work and if so how??
Thanks!02-15-12 09:45 AMLike 0 -
As far as battery life, it usually takes 2-4 days for the OS to settle in. In my case, the first few days were terrible. After that, there was fluctuation, but battery life continued to improve. More recently, there were a few days where battery life got notably worse and more where it got exceptionally better. That was with .205 and my thought is that OS7.1 has a battery percentage reporting bug. At times, I could reboot my phone at 50% and it would come back up at something like 14%. Resets and battery pulls never lost that much. It's almost like the percentage reported gets stuck, even though the battery is still draining at a steady rate. Anyway, that's a bug I hope is fixed in this release.
For others reading this, unlike a lot of reports, I'm getting a slightly slower reboot. Apps seem to start quicker.02-15-12 09:47 AMLike 0 - I downloaded it last night and installed it without any problems. Only thing I notice is the scrolling is a bit quicker and trackpad a bit better.
I had compared the 9810 and 9900 on OS 7.1.0.205 and the 9900 seemed to scroll web quicker and the trackpad was better. When I compare them again, 9900 still on 205, the 9900 is still a bit quicker and more reponsive than the 9810, but the 9810 on 258 is much closer in speed than it was with 205.
In regards to battery life, I think 258 has improved it. The phone has been off the charger for about 5 hours and the device analyzer shows an average rare of 2.04%, with it still at 90%. I am not a big user, but it is better than I had on the last OS, which I think was in the 4% per hour range. The current stats on my 9900 shows 1.97% per hour, so the 9810 now has similar battery consumption.02-15-12 09:57 AMLike 0 - Simple request: Today/tomorrow, any of you that notice your battery life being greatly enhanced with the battery enhancer/saver, post how many 3rd party apps you're using, or if not using any. Also which apps (battery drainers) you deleted. I'm not trying to put anyone on the spot. I really want the battery saver to work as well as the rest (well, most) of you. Yes, I know it's still early since the OS upgrade (less than 24 hrs). But, right now, I'm still a little skeptical.

You're welcomeBlacklatino likes this.02-15-12 10:15 AMLike 1 - What the ??? Dropbox has suspended the public link I posted for 3days. Too many downloads...did a nation just use my link, or something???
Update: The notification screen still has refresh errors, at least on my phone. Also, I'm nearing my 1st 24hr mark, and my battery is at 25%. I have twitter, facebook, socialfeeds, bbm groups always on, approximate talk time since installing .258 is roughly 2hrs.cudinhkien likes this.02-15-12 10:40 AMLike 1
