My protect didn't work either when I first installed. I tried to uninstall and then reinstall it through the app world, but to no avail.
In the end I my personal info (contacts, calendars and messages), wiped and reinstalled from fresh rather than upgrading from .190. So far, no real issues with protect after doing this. It did hiccup upon first boot, but after a second reset it all worked fine *touch wood*.
If anybody from T-MOBILE has upgraded to .205 can you please comment on:
1. Hotspot with default .205 net_rim_api_wlan_hotspot.cod, is it redirecting you to the buy service page? or do we have to put the 7.1.0.74 net_rim_api_wlan_hotspot.cod and if so does it still work?
2. Does NFC get enabled for TMOBILE on this .205? ( to the best of my knowledge this is supposed to be carrier controlled, BUT as we saw in .190 it enabled it for AT&T users...)
3. Is the browser faster than .190? it was a little slow for me
It could be just leak effecvt, but so far my signal on rogers seems alitte more stable, and also on rogers the wifi calling seemed a lot better when I made a 10 min call. Way better than .190 for wifi calling
NFC is still not enabled for me.
Mobile hotspot still works fine
I did have some issues with BB protect hanging at the connect to BBID stage but it worked just fine after a reboot.
no other noticeable changes yet.
Oh yea my battery life is amazing now! I get 48 hours on a full charge.
hi! need some help here. If I either do it manually or use bbhtools to remove the medialoader toolkit files (01, 02, 03 & 04), the instructional videos still show up when I the first reboot occurs. It's happening with this build and happened with the one before. Are these not the files I'm supposed to shrink? If not which ones are the right ones.
Thx in advanced.
Amazing you find that, considering the leak happened only 4 hours ago
I'm pretty sure he did that as a joke to make fun of the all people who keep asking "how's battery life" and yes I know that your joking as well (at least I think so)
great, another leak when my .190 is finally settling.
I'm starting to think that rroyy work at RIM and using people in this thread (including me) as RIMs guinea pig. imagine how much money RIM can save on the R&D.

Works fine with default .cod file? are you paying for the service?
Okay, after further discovery, yes, the browser is a bit slower. Not much of a difference than on 7.1.0.190. The OS is still as smooth in general, no sim toolkit ghosting, which is a mega improvement, same for 7.1.0.190, no toolkit ghosting. I am impressed. Battery life, still too early to tell. As far for me, I am used to swapping batteries and charging them on an external charger, not in my device. So battery life for me is quite excellent. I'll wait a week before a final evaluation of it is complete.
PS. I did shrink the bloat out and slimmed it down, leaving 200MB free. Thanks to BB Boss 2.2.2.
