This past week we saw the Bold 9900 get OS 7.1.0.190 dropped for all to use. The build so far as been said to be very good. Now, Torch 9810 users will be able to enjoy the same OS goodness.
Just installed so far so good. Just one question what is the difference between UMA and Wi-Fi calling. I have UMA on my account so is this the same?
Mind you I'm on AT&T, so I have neither of them, but my understanding is with UMA, the phone switches to the phone network when you lose wi-fi. With wi-fi only, it just drops the call when out of range. I could be wrong, if so, please correct me.
Meaning your device can only connect to the 4G network?
Mecca - do you think that perhaps this OS provides "automatic" switching to 2G/3G is the signal is poor (even though you can not manually switch it)?
I'm happier than a tick on a bloodhound!!! I'll have to agree with your theory, because it's the only thing that makes logical sense. Still, I hate not having control of that. They should have asked 1st.
what about tethering? i use the rooted bridge with my playbook. wifi would be faster but what about the tethering charges? in this os is there a work around so there is not a charge for tethering?

If this was an ATT release - my theory would be they saw no need to worry about bas signal because at the time of release, they were counting on all those extra towers from buying T-Mobile!!!
