Did you just pick up a brand new BlackBerry Bold 9900 from Rogers or elsewhere in the world? Youll be excited to know that OS 7.0.0.317 has dropped for the 9900. Theres no word on what could have changed over the stock .296 build. Nonetheless, back up and fire up to see what goodies could be bundled in this new build.

Download Bold 9900 OS 7.0.0.317 from:

    FileServe

Personally Id stay away from this build. Had some issues. The main issue being the app list in options is empty. Also search settings are not saved after battery pull (this actually started in the later 200 builds). Haven't noticed any real improvements over the 2xx builds so Id recommend skipping this one.

Shao, would you recommend .296 over .261?

I think 296 was the build the universal search settings (if you actually use them) is broken, other than that it should be fine to use 296, no major differences however.

Ouch... Universal Search is my bread and butter.. guess I'm sticking to .261 for now... not that there's anything wrong with it... but always looking to update to the latest and greatest haha.

Alright guys, I had .261 and started using it this morning with 100% battery life. Within 4-5 hours of usage it was down to about 37%. Decided to give .317 a shot. Installation was smooth and takes exactly 60 seconds to boot. Internet seems very fast, definately faster than before and everything is still as smooth. Application in the uptions was there so not sure if that's really a problem or not. Pictures come out very nicely and I will report back tomorrow with an update on the battery situation. Also have 210mb available with a couple of apps installed rather than the 180mb that was on the previous version.

Sounds like 317 is a stinker! I think I'll avoid the 9930 version if it leaks out!

Has anyone tried shrinking OS7 yet (languages, fonts)? Should work the same without issue like OS6 right?

I got my 9900 yesterday (Rogers) and the email setup app was not working at all after the "device transfer" was done. So, I was unable to activate my email. I ended up loading this leaked build and that fixed it. So far it seems to be fine. I'll keep an eye out for the issues mentioned above but my App Management screen has the full listing.

Its 2 days I have it discharging at 7.2%/hr. I'm not to impressed with the battery. I'm still hoping it settles down.

well after a couple of days of use and reboots, battery seems to be much better. It is lasting me a day + and is only discharging at around 2-3%/hr.

Installed yesterday with no issues, all apps show in the downloads. Will monitor battery and memory leaks over the next week or so. I think its important to allow the OS to stabilize and level out before making any judgements. So far so good though.
