.348 hands down. ive used all of the recent ones (.238, .314, .348) and must say, all releases were pretty good but .348 is solid. and yes, very important to search and read up on stuff around here before doing anything.
Just installed .348 on my 8900 last night, clean wipe installation and got to agree with everyone this leaked OS seems to be on the ball. An official release from this one cannot be far away. A lot faster as well IMO.
Hi! I am a new BB user with an unlocked 8900. The OS on my phone is 4.6.1.250 (Platform 4.2.0.113). Would you guys suggest I upgrade to 5.0.348? And where do I download it from ? How do I install it? Thanks.
.348! But make sure you do your research as everyone has said so that if you run into problems you know how to get out of them, you don't want to brick your BB. I spent months reading before I took the leap, but that's just me, I actually wanted to wait for the official release but I'm very impatient
Hey Dictoresno! You clearly know everything there is to know about 8900. Will you help a newbie install 348 over 4.6.1.250? Where do I find the OS to download? How do I install it and if I run into any problems how do I reinstall the older OS? Thanks, man!
thanks everyone! looks like ill be researching this whole upgrading thing a little more, but .348 seems to be the ticket. And in regards to waiting on the official release... I spoke with a tech rep from t-mobile the other day over the phone, he told me that they (t-mobile) usually catch wind of software updates about a month before they release it, and so far there is no word coming through about an official release, so for those impatient ones like myself, ya might wanna hit the books and look into this leaked .348! Oh yeah and the tech rep also mentioned to me that some 8900 users were putting the 9700 5.0 software onto their 8900's and it was working great. Anyone ever heard of that??? sounds kinda far out to me, but i am a BB new-b so what do i know? Ha ha
