Read the first post in this thread and follow the step by step instructions there to update your OS. Do not skip any steps or make your own. Just do it!11-04-10 12:17 PMLike 0 -

Try out all your apps. Some might not work anyway with BB6 so delete them for now.
Also delete any Add-On native apps you don't need, such DOD Root Certificate, Enterprise Activation, VAD or VVM if you don't use, etc.

- New problem :s
Everything went great with the install last night, did everything that was listed in the instructions and it was working like a dream. Today, I uninstalled an app that required a reboot and now, my phone sits at the boot up screen. Has been now for about 15 minutes or so...the second time around. I did a second battery pull after it did this the first time and did the exact same thing. My phone is sitting here useless, and wont connect to my computer via USB so I can make any changes.
Suggestions? Any help would be much appreciated!11-04-10 12:30 PMLike 0 - I am hesitant to try this, because of too much troubles I read about. I'll probably wait for an official release or an improved leak. The only thing I really wonder about is how the new webkit browser would perform on GPRS compared to OS5. Yes you heard right, just stinking GPRS here.11-04-10 12:35 PMLike 0
- Thanks for the input, I appreciate it! I had a feeling it was something like that, I just wanted to be sure11-04-10 12:39 PMLike 0

With a Leaked OS, deleting the Vendor is actually NOT necessary. It's just good practice to be in the habit of doing it. I always do it anyway out of habit!
So that shouldn't be related to that poster's installation woes.

- Hey, I was on that last v5 leak from bbleaks before.
Installed this v6 on my PC, and tried to upgrade, but everytime it keeps on upgrading to v5.
Uninstalled v5 from my PC and reinstalled a couple of time v6, but now when I try to run the apploader, it keeps saying that there's no software for me, and I have to browse for alx files.
Any fix for me?
Please!
Thanks,
Sara.11-04-10 02:43 PMLike 0 - Yes - you can install the .cod with BBSAK (download it from my link).

- Fantastic post and I used it to load OS6 on my 9700. Went very well. Much appreciated jeffreii. Much appreciated.11-04-10 04:36 PMLike 0
- Actually Jeffreii, I was thinking it might be a good idea if you added a couple notes on BBM Backup into the first Post. I include in all my OS upgrade instructions now. Especially for a big jump like this one, I would recommend the remote Backup being enabled to the primary email address, as well as the Local Backup to the media card.11-04-10 06:19 PMLike 0
- I have T-mobile 9700 and I have tried all procedures stated here and I still have white background and small Icons. Cod files have been deleted Leaving only rim blackberry 6 theme. Backup restore done(no options or settings checked) Battery pulls done, I can't access my display or theme options. When I click menu and then click on options. Options will not open, screen flickers, but does not open options. Please Help, I don't want to downgrade OS!11-04-10 08:16 PMLike 0

It's possible to upgrade with DM, but can be very problematic for many, hence the many recommendations here to use the other method with Loader.
If it worked for you, then great!
