why would i need to wipe my phone though? I always installed leaks without having to wipe first. I'm also using DM 5.0... but when i plugged the phone in, it showed i had no updated even after installing the leak onto the computer... weird

I don't know why you would have to - but thats what I did and it worked. I did a full back up and then wipe. I always do that with a new OS install

Clean install to prevent files from clashing... Some files may stay that aren't needed that will conflict with the new OS.

I didn't turn my radio on and after it prompted me for a restart, I went and checked the messages and the BB took it upon itself to send an e-mail with out even prompting me:

I didn't turn my radio on and after it prompted me for a restart, I went and checked the messages and the BB took it upon itself to send an e-mail with out even prompting me:





This e-mail is huge and includes EVERYTHING (from cpu usage to mileage on my track ball)you can think of about my device - including pin.

You didn't delete the Internal RIM tools from your PC before installing did you?

No wipe here.
I downgraded via DB to 4.7.1 (I was on the 5.0 Hybrid 1.1)
Then on the PC, I uninstalled all the hybrid installs and rebooted.
Next, I installed the 5.0.0.191 to the PC
I uninstalled Blackberry RIM Internal Tools.
Deleted Vendor.xml
I did one last reboot to be sure.
Then I connected the BB and waited for the device to be discovered.
Lastly, I ran the App Loader (loader.exe) by itself instead of trying the DM.
