I have a friend whose BBM name begins with an "L", but he is listed first in my contacts list. It has nothing to do with a battery pull or restarting my BlackBerry, or anything like that, because we've been BBM friends for a while, but for the past few months it's been like this. When I click on his name to see his info, it looks like there is a space before his name, but when I try to put a space before my own name, nothing happens, the space just gets deleted and my name goes back to normal and I'm still listed alphabetically on other peoples' contact list. I think he has an invisible character or symbol before his name. Anyone know what it might be? I want to be first too!

I don't use BBM but am able to insert spaces before names in my address book to keep them at the top.

Try putting an apostrophe before your name. That works on Facebook. But personally I find it very annoying when someone does it. You don't always have to be the center of attention.

Its because your friend ''L'' is using an older version of BBM. In the older versions u can put a space before your name. With BBM version 4.7 u can do it. I dont know if i'ts possible with higher versions.
