I asked @Uk_blackberry if current os7 devices will get the new features that the new 9720 has in an update.
All they said to me is that they cannot comment on future updates

Yes this is the party line stock answer. We don't know what if any development is going on with other legacy BBs. Keep in mind they are all several years old!

The Bold 9900 is more powerful than the 9720, he has got the same screen, so I think the OS7.1 for the 9720 will be available on Bold 9900.

New features of this OS will be :
-"An updated interface that lets you swipe to unlock the phone or access the camera from the lock screen, as well as additional enhancements."
-"The FM radio" (actually it's not available on some blackberry like the Bold 9900)
-"The new Multicast service : lets you quickly type your message once and post it simultaneously and instantly to your friends on BBM, Twitter(R) andFacebook(R). You can even snap a picture and post it to multiple social networks all at the same time, right from the camera app."

I don't understand why there will be the new "multicast" function, there is already the "Social Feeds" who give us the possibility to post on Facebook, Twitter and BBM the same message. Strange.

Although I did not see how Multicast will work, I think it's about seamless integration instead of providing a separate stand alone app. I for example removed Social Feeds from my 9900 because it was not integrated into "my workflow" (or however you might call it).

All I need is os 7.0 on my blackberry 9800. Please can someone help me out on where to download the os 7.0 via my blackberry. Cos my blackberry will never check for new update its self, it says "your blackberry is up to date"! With os 6.0 on it why?

The 9800 can't be updated to OS7 as its too slow but the 9810 can be as it's got a 1.2Ghz cpu
