My Blackberry history is fairly short 8900-8220-9800-9300-9360-9860, but each of those devices has given me more comfort in the work place than any other phone brand can do. My phone usage is simple - I need instant access to new emails and I very rarely have to respond on the device. I have tried to use a variety of iphones,a few android phones and a Z10 but nothing matches the speed of delivery that a legacy device can offer. My latest recruit is a Torch 9860, one of the few blackberry styles I haven't owned befpre (touchscreen only) and I have to say I am thoroughly impressed. Sure the onscreen keyboard isn't brilliant and the lack of apps to take advantage of the brilliant screen is a shame, but for displaying email content it is perfect.

I have no problem with paying for BIS on top of my regular contract - the benefit to me far outweighs any extra cost. Which leads to the question - how long will BB support BIS for general consumers?

Well considering they are re releasing the 9900 Bold, probably support it for awhile

    No one really knows....

If BES is supported, is there much of a difference in also supporting BIS? And for BlackBerry there is a reason to support BIS subscribers as they are paying customers. Two to three years after the last BBOS device is put on the EOL list, would be a guess. But it could go on for much, much longer. Then again carriers maybe the driving force of weaning consumers off of BIS.

Speed of delivery?? When I compared my Z10 with an Active Sync Account with my 9650 with Push Email.... they were within 30 seconds of one another in most cases.... with the Z10 being faster.

That's all assuming they are on the road to recovery....

see Ive never been able to get anything over than just 15 minute sync intervals from the email accounts i need for work. which is why legacy trumps os 10 for me...
