- I've installed the latest leaked OS for my 9380, the OS 7.1.402. It's fast.
Then out of curiosity about Hybrid OS, I installed this one.
It's awesome. I love the bundled apps specially the available application storage. Upon observing it, using a non-hybrid OS, gives me less than 150 MB of application storage. After using this Hybrid OS, it have me more than 200 MB of free application storage based from 9380's memory of 512 MB. It's awesome!
I haven't checked the mic issue when on a phone call as well as the FM radio if it's working. But I am really sure I extracted the radio thing to the right path. I didn't receive any errors during the installation of the OS.
I think the OS is really fast.
The only problem is, whenever I launch BlackBerry Desktop Manager, I always receive an error that it cannot read or access my BlackBerry phone. My phone's properly plugged in to my computer, I've tried selecting USB Mode and Sync Media upon plugging my phone to my computer and while Desktop Manager is running. Is it because I'm using a hybrid OS?
Also, there are some applications that is included with this hybrid OS that needs some keys. Can anyone help me with that? Please PM me
Oh yeah, can someone explain why I need to monitor this hybrid OS with constant battery draining thing for 3 days? and do I need to do a battery pull, like when? also, is it possible to just do a soft reset via MeterBerry or via QuickPull and not a battery pull? Which is better?
I have a license key for MeterBerry but not for FileScout
A stupid question, how to do a soft reset on an all touch phone without using MeterBerry or QuickPull?
Oh and upon checking AppWorld and refreshing my applications, I only can see BlackBerry Protect. I don't see Facebook or whatever. Is it because of the Facebook app that comes with the Hybrid OS is somewhat modified or something? If it is, am I allowed to install normal and not for Hybrid OS apps?
I just found out that the predictive thing doesn't work
---FourSquare just notified me that an update is available. Do you think I should update it or just leave the built-in FourSquare that was installed by the hybrid OS?
---after restarting my computer, Desktop Manager can now recognize my BlackBerry phone with Hybrid OS. however, whenever I try to check the list of application on my phone via the Desktop Manager, it crashes.
--I am able to uninstall applications on my hybrid OS phone using the "loader.exe" thing.
I am also able to install applications using the BlackBerry AppWorld website with it's AppWorld plugin.
--I was able to make the predictive thing work. Remember a while ago I plugged in my phone to my computer and used the "loader.exe" ... whenever you run it after installing the hybrid OS, you'll see in the "applications" list that it has an update for the BBM hybrid and when you click next, you will be prompted it's going to remove some input support for arabic and other non-english language. Just allow that to happen and after your phone restarts, it will have a predictive dictionary support (english).Last edited by iAmJuanKarlo; 05-01-12 at 09:22 PM. Reason: added another attachment.
05-01-12 06:14 PMLike 0 - version 4.5 for what?
by the way after a few hours of installing this hybrid OS, i was able to use 3g for more than 6-8 hours. before it's only less than 4 hours. i am looking forward for more improvements in a few days from now.
however, i'm having issues with GPS. i have 2 curve 9380 phones. the one has the original blackberry OS and the other one, it has the latest hybrid OS. the series 4 of barracuda babyluv thing.
when both of the phones were trying to check in to a place using facebook, the one with the original (official firmware build from RIM), can see the current location, therefore i'm able to check-in where I am that time. but for the hybrid OS, it is having difficulties getting my location. by the way, both of the phone were inside the mall.
i also cannot check in via foursquare. i had to manually type the location/area/establishment using the search function in foursquare.
however using one with the official OS, everything is okay.
after a few hours, i went out to the mall and tested the two devices. the device (9380) that has the hybrid OS was able to check in outside the mall, and i am able to use blackberry maps/gps outside, but the phone, same model with an OS from RIM was able to check in and use gps even the phone is inside the mall.Last edited by iAmJuanKarlo; 05-02-12 at 02:11 PM.

- ---an update, i went outside the house to test the gps, i tried checking in to facebook and foursquare. it says it cannot detect my location. i've tried using the maps application. GPS still doesn't work.
it's a good OS, phone's really fast with a longer battery life with no lags. i haven't tested the mic yet. i already fixed the predictive dictionary issue. however there's definitely an issue with the gps.05-02-12 06:07 PMLike 0 -

before i want to say thank you for using this hybrid.
This hybrid of course faster than usual OS lol.
For Blackberry Desktop Manager, is there any evidence "connecting"? if you've tried it on another computer? Hybrid OS in my opinion there is no impact to the USB port, the problem might be from the USB? idk..
For key applications in the hybrid, I didn't have the keygen.
Q: Oh yeah, can someone explain why I need to monitor this hybrid OS with constant battery draining thing for 3 days? and do I need to do a battery pull, like when? also, is it possible to just do a soft reset via MeterBerry or via QuickPull and not a battery pull? Which is better?
A: Pull the bat i think its important to do at least once a day, to refresh your blackberry OS system. and don't use Meterberry or QuickPull to do a reset, unplug the battery and reset by the application is not the same.
Q: Oh and upon checking AppWorld and refreshing my applications, I only can see BlackBerry Protect. I don't see Facebook or whatever. Is it because of the Facebook app that comes with the Hybrid OS is somewhat modified or something? If it is, am I allowed to install normal and not for Hybrid OS apps?
A: Blackberry Protect is installed on your blackberry? Of course you can install again this hybrid without any application
Q: ---FourSquare just notified me that an update is available. Do you think I should update it or just leave the built-in FourSquare that was installed by the hybrid OS?
A: FourSquare in this hybrid already up to date version. If later you still using this hybrid and FourSquare get update just update again.
Q: ---after restarting my computer, Desktop Manager can now recognize my BlackBerry phone with Hybrid OS. however, whenever I try to check the list of application on my phone via the Desktop Manager, it crashes.
A: I never found a problem like that you find, if you want to check list application why not use another tools like BBSAK or BBMCP or VnBB Utitilities?
Q: --I am able to uninstall applications on my hybrid OS phone using the "loader.exe" thing.
I am also able to install applications using the BlackBerry AppWorld website with it's AppWorld plugin.
A: If you wan un install the application from the hybrid just go to "Option - Device - Application Management"
Q: --I was able to make the predictive thing work. A: predictive just able for english, not for another language. sorry i see your attachment for BBM Hybrid / arabic and korean language to be deleted coz the application i made manually *maybe lol*
oke i'll check for GPS later ya.
btw thanks for any feedback.iAmJuanKarlo likes this.05-03-12 01:15 AMLike 1
