Can we not just find a new Sprint dial-up number that works? Don't they need to have one for all the paid tethering users?

Okay
Finally I can report something to everyone whos been wondering whats going on. Sprint recently upgraded some of the AAA servers and has been migrating users over to the new ones. It just so happens the new servers have the glitch fixed where it's actually showing the correct settings for Modem NAI and that my friends is why there is no more FREE PAM with Sprint BlackBerrys !!!! Eventually everyone will be shut off....
will Tetherberry users also be cut off?
Has anyone tried this on bell Canada? If so were there any extra charges or fees?
Same here tried tour on tmobile tried bold on tmo tried 8320 can't make it work on laptop win7 or xp. Even tried pdanet for bold tour storm

Sprint has shut off tethering for blackberry users that do not have PAM (Phone As Modem) listed as part of there existing plan. Customers that have plans that did not list PAM (tethering) as included, were never suppose to use this their phone as modem but the software allowed all users to teather in the past and Sprint Reps misinformed many when asked.
BES customers that signed up when PAM was included as part of that service are grandfathered in. I have the BIS data plan ($30 mo.) and my wife has the BES data plan ($40 mo). This is not part of a everything data plan and our voice plan is the old "fair and flexible". My BIS plan no longer works when tethering but my wifes BES plan has "phone as modem" listed as included on our account and it still works perfect.
PAM is no longer available on any everything data plan, per Sprints Advanced Blackberry technical department. The same representative said that: "Sprint considers applications like Tetherberry to be stealing phone as modem service from Sprint and we have a development team working to block access to them on the Sprint network"
You can buy a plan other than everything data, and still add "phone as modem" service for $15 per month, but again it is not available on any everyting data plan.
Hope that helps.
They shouldnt eclude the everything data customers. 15 dollars a month is 15 dollars a month. Totally unfair
what about sprint?? humm??
u guys do have better data plan than NZ.. kinda sucks for me...
I searced and read. Can someone help me tether my tmo bold with windows 7 laptop

In the extra initialization command nothing is there , it will not let me type anything in. Whats the problem. Also, does AT&T charge for this
i followed excellent instructions and the baby worked first time!!
nice and fast to start with then degenerated into the slowest connection known to internet man (and woman)
any ideas how i can speed it up?
Well i know I'm kind of late to the tethering party just wanted to say I can't get it to working properly and I know I've done this before eh.. I've ran the diagnostics on the standard modem but the I keep getting COMMAND NOT SUPPORTED in the query. I've got 5.0 desktop running and trying to use a BOLD running OS 5.0.238. If there's something I'm missing please advise if anyone has time. Currently running windows 7 for the OS on my laptop. Welp off to work I'll check back later and as always appericate the wonderful forums here.
although i can get a connection ok using my storm 9500 as a 'modem', internet explorer will not use the connection, it just says it 'cannot connect to the internet'. I did the 'Select Dial whenever a network connection is not present' in internet options but still no different.
could vodafone be blocking me? The storm works ok when it's not connected to my laptop
Is it true that you phone can get a virus using it as a modem? Just a heads up: if you have desktop manager 5.0 or 5.1, it has an option where you click to connect or tether to the internet! I came on this thread to set up and my comp wasn't showing the standard modem. So I called tmo and they said they don't have modem support anymore! And after several calls to care, one told me to dl the latest manager and I don't have to do what we used to do to set up. I did and it was easy as selecting your carier and clicking connect!
