Sweet RN
Okay, I've been trying to update my Storm to .109. Followed all steps as mentioned in page 1, but whatever I try, it won't work.
After I disconnect my Internet connection, DM says "No update required". If I keep the connection running, I will only be able to stay on .78. It seems as though DM won't find the new software. I'm lost now.
im tryin to upgrade from the .75 to .99 on my verizon BB Storm. for some reason it gives me this handheld uploader error box. i tried upgrading my bb curve and it wrked with no problem. is there something im missing. please help...
^^^ Same here. Just had to restore from my backed up data to retrieve my settings. Thankfully, I knew to back it all up beforehand from this post. If I didn't have an old, slow computer this would've been a walk in the park. Thanks, Don.
Thanks a lot for posting this guide, I was able to update to a leaked OS with ease. It was about time too, I was getting a little irritated with how dated the OS I had was starting to feel, especially after reading about all of the improvements I was still waiting on.
so then once the upgrade is completed, do I just do a restore of the back up, and it will just restore settings, themes, ringer settings and things of that nature but keep the 109 OS?

First off, thanx for the effort in putting up the walk through. I read through the instructions thouroughly and then attempted to install .109 over .75 on my Verizon 9530 Storm.
After bringing up DM it does not find the .109 that I just installed on my PC. I followed the instructions exactly, but, the only part I am not sure of is this line :
If you are NOT on Verizon, delete vendor.xml file. Its located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader.
I am on Verizon Wireless, so I did not attempt to delete vendor.xml file. I did remember to disconnect my internet connection, but , I never get the screen that asks me to choose the OS to upgrade to, any suggestions?
Thx for this........... update was a breeze!
Nyrico I'm on verizon too, I never got the option to pick an OS either but I just did the update and it worked, even without that step.

The only update that is offered is the "4.7 core applications", is that what you did? Thank you.
It probably would have been a good idea for me to have read this post first... I just spent an hour setting my phone back to the way I had it. Maybe I missed this on the first post. If it's not there, you might want to consider an edit. If it is there, call me a noob and tell me to hush!
Got the .109 install done. I did have to uninstall the vendor.xml file, although I am on Verizon, once I did this I saw the .109 available for urgrade. Thanks all for the help.
I just attempted to update my .90 to .109 and now getting the Reload Software: 507 on the screen of my Storm.. I know i have seen a thread somewhere about this.. help!?!!
