How to Remove "Sent from my BlackBerry"

There are times I don't want people to know how or whence I'm sending my messages. So I turn off that sig. If, for some reason, I want people to know I'm sending it from my BB, without actually telling them I'm sending it from my BB, I will type in, "Sent from my Verizon Wireless Blackberry" at the bottom of the message as if the server automatically put it there.

Ok so I am a newbie here. I am trying to log into change my signuture but I keep getting the following message:
"Your account is not accessible via HTML browser. Please use your device to access Blackberry Internet Service."
I try the website with my Blackberry and I get an error message.
Any ideas???

yes, search for a thread called something like "Push email on Hotmail - Here's Your answer" It will tell you how to fix that.

Logging on the carrier's BIS page is not required ( at least not with Sprint) to change the default signature and other settings for your email configuration. It can be done from your BB without creating an account on BIS.

Have not test it but this may not work if you already have a BIS account.( I read somewhere something about it....)

Email Settings application will allow you to Add/Delete/Change your email settings including Signature and Auto BCC. It basically provide access to most if not all configurable settings for email.

I had this problem and finally realized after searching for a long time that you had to create an account and register it from your phone with BIS. The how-to is slightly outdated.

You can modify the signature from the device. Go to email settings. Select the email account you want to modify. Easy!

Yes, if you have uploaded the video to your BlackBerry and finished with it, just delete and click yes to reboot and restore your mem.

I had to have Sprint set up the username and password for me. I would constantly get the message that I am not registered to my wireless service provider. The tech support set up my username and password for me and even reworked my signature the way I wanted it, And now I can log onto it freely.

8. Click on Save at the bottom of the screen
9. Enter the password for your email account to process change
10. Repeat Steps 3 through 8 for any other email accounts you wish to change the signature on

Thanks for all the info everyone! I think it's sneaky of carriers to automatically insert their advertising in your personal emails. It always gave me the cheap feeling that a free email host provides when they append your emails with slogans/ads.

What password does step #9 refer to? Is this one created on the BB somehow or on the VZW site or my e-mail provider?

After much trial and error I figured this out on my own. I saw this thread and was going to post the instructions here for other Verizon users. Looks like you beat me to the punch. This is GREAT information for Verizon users and very easy. Thanks.

I had to go through so many forums and instruction lists to get detailed instructions! People assume everyone knows how they are getting into a specific menu. Thanks so much for this! It is slightly different on my 8330 Curve but this helped me figure it out.
Not to beat a dead horse but this is how it worked for me if anyone is looking for Verizon 8330 Curve instructions...
main screen=> setup wizard=>email setup=>"I want to create or add an email address"=> edit (the address you want to remove signature from)=>signature field (change to what you want)=>save

same for me so much frustration this should be a much easier process.. thanks all for the help.

Yes, it did, thanks. Note to others: The user name is NOT the same as your myname@provider.blackberry.net. It is a separate entity on its own that you have to create from your device's browser. You can use the same name (providing it is not already in use) as your BB email address, or it can be completely different. It is a 'master' account by which all of your email accounts can be managed via computer.

Thanks, Mokhe303. That simple fix worked like a charm. Just went to the email setup on my phone and deleted the Verizon signature.

I clicked on the Email Settings Icon instead of the Setup Icon and went thru the steps and was able to edit the signature as well. Spent about an hour going thru forums and BB's own site until I came upon this last page in this topic. Sometimes the answer is right in front of you, or on your screen! Loving my new BB!!:D

I'm looking at my setup/e-mail/full menu/edit and there is a spce where you can edit this. Will this not also work? Maybe this is new with OS 6. I don't remember seeing it with OS5 and definitely no OS 4. Feedback?

Especially if it's the os6, go into the inbox
>push the Blackberry button
>scroll down and select option
>Email Preferences
>Uncheck "use auto signature"

1. Set up folder
2. Email Settings
3. Highlight the account your interested in
4. Menu
5.Edit
6. Scroll down until you see signature.
