Sent them to you in a pin message. Just select the icon you want to use, copy it and paste it into a bbm chat. It will turn into a picture icon.

Wait, it shows as a picture for you but when you send it to a person you're chatting to they see it as a box?

You have to have BBM version 5.0 or better to use them.
If you have 4.7 you won't be able to see them. Do your friends have the old BBM?

OK, so you have the symbols already. That's good, Now, if you select one, copy it and paste it into a bbm chat, it turns into a picture. Are you having trouble copying and pasting? That is done with the bb button mostly. You can also copy individual icons and paste them in autotext and create new entries for them in autotext. That way you can use them all the time right form autotext.

Is there a way of using any of these in a text message?
Mainly the standard (c) which comes from holding C and scrolling up/down left/right in BBM... a friend of mine wanted to know if you could do the same in a text message.. when I tried on my BB, when I got to the (c) the txt message space went really thin, and you could not see what was typed... so I pressed the back button so to see what was typed in the unsent text message, and what should be the (c) was a ?... question mark :s lol

And the list on page 3 I think, with the black chess pieces among other symbols are all mostly black boxes? If anyone has all of them that work, can they send me some too as some people seem to be doing? My pins 21E1A7FE thanks

No these are only for BBM. Sorry.
The chess pieces icons do not work in BBM, as a lot of them in that list do not. I have been sending people a complete list of icons and symbols that WORK. Some of these lists are just a lot of icons but they do not work in BBM.
