Hi, thanks for the symbols. I have another problem I'm trying to save them in auto text so I copy 1 at a time but after I put the name in the REPLACE field it doesn't give me the option to paste it in the WITH field. If you know how I can do this I would appreciate it. Thanks so much.

I have a feeling you just did not copy the symbol. It is rather tricky. You need to move the trackball next to the icon you want, then press the left shift key with the capital A on it and then copy the icon. it turns grey I think. It is a tricky thing to do. Once you copy it properly tho, it will let you paste in the WITH field and when you paste...it will be a black box!!!!!

The only time you will see the actually real icon is IN a BBM chat

you have to copy and paste the symbol to the auto text, so that every time you put that word in the picture comes up. For example if i type "lucks" a picture of a clover will appear.

You might be speaking of the letters from an app called Fancy Characters. It has letters in circles or bubbles.

I believe you can buy it at Mobihand or in the CB store for 1.99

I have tried this & when I am in the autotext new field, I do not get the option to paste in the menu, only to get the symbol chart. Am I missing something? I'm on an 8330.

You will need to hit the blackberry key and you will find the option called "new" and you will be able to add it from there

Excuse me, but you realize that the problem that Katy was having with copy and paste was from February????

That was over 5 months ago, right? I'm sure she would have posted again or contacted someone else by PM if she needed clarification on using autotext properly. And just to clarify, your directions on using autotext were not exactly correct either.

Katy's original problems stemmed from not selecting the emoticon and then copying it i imagine, that is why she did not see the paste option; she DID choose NEW in the menu option, so the directions you gave her were superfluous. I guess if you have arrived on the scene a few months earlier you could have helped her!
