hide pictures! native solution in OS5 in here!!
Hi There
As many of you guys i was searching the whole web for a solution to hide certain media files on my phone. because just moving the files into a new folder didnt fit for me.
On OS 5.0 i found a native solution to hide pictures;
in media application:
highlight the desired picture
click menu button
choose "properties" (not sure if its called like that in english menues. in german its "eigenschaften")
scroll down and select "hide"
the picture will now dont show up in media folders any longer.
to unhide the pictures you have to go to the media folder. hit menu. click SEARCH. hit menu. click show hidden files. browse to your picture directory, find the hidden pictures, select them, choose properties, unhide them.
for me it's the best solution. you dont have to install buggy 3th party apps and its more secure than just move them into new folders, because in OS 5.0 you will always see the media folders in the upper part of the media browser. and today even a 8yo kid knows how to browse directories. the files wont show up in normal file browser and (more important) wont show up in media file browser! best thing: also there isnt a single possibility to unhide them while you are in the photo / video application!
hope it will work out for some of you guys for a temporary solution as long as RIM takes their fingers outta there arses and create a native encrypt solution..
:-)
BTW does anyone know how i can select multiple images to change settings for multiple photos with one click, without selecting every single image for it own?
thanks for reading this and sorry about some spelling mistakes. as a matter of fact english isnt my main language ;)
cheers
dom
SUGGESTION: u may consider to to think about creating a new folder for your hidden pictures. its easier to find them through the search to unhide them later on. because if you got tons of pictures its very hard to find the hidden ones in the list to unhide them. :)
