Hello, long time lurker, first time poster. So I upgraded to .442 (wanted to do .545, but my carrier doesn't offer it yet, and I couldn't get it to work any other way, so w/e I don't care)on my bold 9700 and I have a few problems.

    1) My address book is all messed up. Duplicate entries, names to the wrong phone numbers, etc.

2)My bbm chats are all gone (maybe they can't be restored, idk)

    3) I have a little bubble up in the status bar telling me I have a calendar event, but there's nothing on my calendar for the next 2 days.

The last two are not too bad, but my entire address book is messed up, and short of going through and manually inputing it all over again, I don't know what to do. I've tried partial restore, and full restore and it hasn't solved these issues.

If you can help me, I would greatly appreciate it!

    Alex

Set the Options > Advanced Options > Default Service > CICAL... then do a battery pull: leave your device on, pull the battery out for 20 seconds, put it back in and wait for your device to boot up.

If you did an upgrade, you have a backup file... i.e. Loadbackup(somedate).ipd

Connect your device, start DM, Backup, Advanced... select the Address database, push the Clear button... then load the backup file on the left side of the screen, and restore just the Address database.

Trust me, I tried this already. I even did a full backup. It didn't do a damn thing.

Then it must have been screwed up before the upgrade... sorry!!!

That's another reason I like using Gmail... I can edit my contact data on my PC and sync all my data right back onto my device.
