I actually learned the "event log"tip from the salesman at bestbuy when I bought my cuve 8520. I do it @ least 1-2x a week and it does freeup a lil memory.are there any other logs I can clear to give me even more memory and make my phone lag a lil less?? Like clear out inboxes etc. I've only had my first bb for about 5 months so any info would be VERY helpful!!! Thank you guys!!! Also, I LOVE this site!! VERY informative!!

That Event Log I'll bet is back to full again within hours, with even moderate usage. With your device, and a newer OS the browser cache would be the only thing I'd even think about beyond keeping messages from piling up. Of course, use a media card for pics, tunes and what-not.
It runs like a news ticker. As one item occurs, the oldest gets deleted, maintaining a constant storage size. It won't clear unless you manually invoke a clear. There are many programs you can use on the PC to capture the log.
If the "clear log" has been pushed, can the outside program (another appliacation) still get the log for that day (or log before the "clear log" is pushed)? If it does, what program can I use?
Once you choose to clear it, it's gone. The best, most powerful program for BlackBerries I believe to be BlackBerry Master Control Program. I'll get you a link. Out of curiousity, just why the uberconcern about the log?
