I still use BBM daily but use has changed in the last year or two. Down from a peak of about 35 names I have 25 now. Previously of the 35, 25 were USA users. Now of 25 names 5 are USA users. The out of the country users all business related. Of the 5 USA names - 3 are business - 2 are personal.

I barely use it even though I'm in a group I don't talk in and have random friends from over the world. Even with every BB I've had still never really got into using it much though. All my friends have Android/iOS which is making me get that itch again.

I love BBM, but unfortunately most of my BBM contacts have switched to Android to iOS. I had over 30 BBM contacts at one point, now down to 3.

I really like BBM and have found out most of the programs I use at work, Pocket Cop, are super pumped up versions of BBM. Great program.

the only person I know with another blackberry is my wife. My daughter uses a android so we have unlimited texting so I use regular texting all the time.

I don't have alot of contacts that use BB exclusively which is a shame becasue BBM is a great feature. I do use it to text my other contacts though once I discovered the text messaging contact feature.

Well, after the MLB fiasco, and I switched and bought the app on the Android platform, they decided to support BlackBerry after all. By then, it was a tad too late. Not that I am regretting having the power at my fingertips, at all.

Fact is, I missed having the group friends I've had on BBM almost since they introduced that feature. I told 'em I'd be back as soon as I could.

For as long as BB continues to be THE most secure platform AND continue its BBM ownership and control, I will continue to use BB.
Now, since using other platforms I've learned that I do enjoy them. So, best of both worlds, the fun factor of using something different AND those features that make BB my daily driver and my trusted tool.

I'm from South Africa and here everything is BBM! Everyone uses it and I have to carry a BB just to keep in touch, and an iPhone because I can't live without it. A real pain to carry two phones!

I moved to the US last year for about 8 months and obviously there its all Android and iPhone, but was very surprised to see People in the US don't use much Instant Messaging services?? From my experience, seems like US people use plain text messaging because it's just as cheap.

What's you guys views/opinions?

In my opinion even if it's cheap, I'd still prefer any IM service, because it's just faster and better with read reciepts, group chats and status updates.

I use bbm all day everyday! And plqyed with other CROSS platform messaging apps. BBM is by far the best.

sorry I don't. My wife is the only other BB user I know and since my daughter and other friends are ob some other device I have unlimited texting on my plan so I don't use BBM

I did use it all the time. However, everyone I know that had a BlackBerry now uses either an iPhone or Android device. I no longer have any contacts on BBM.
