    Hey everyone,

I have been hearing a lot about RIM's upcoming OS 6.1, and I was just curious to know what devices were going to be getting the upgrade (which devices could handle it). I just upgraded to a 9780 and I would be rather disappointed if my new device couldn't handle 6.1

    thanks

I am guessing 9780 will be able to support 6.1. It'd be a bummer if it wouldn't. RIM should know better and besides, the bold units are quite strong among the blackberry consumers (or at least thats the way i see it)

Nobody knows yet which devices will run 6.1. I would guess that the 9780 will support BB6.1.

When will this 6.1 be released?

We can't even be sure how much of 6.1 actually depends on the updated hardware in the new devices, there may not actually be any point to 6.1 on older hardware rather than another 6.0 release.

I'm going to guess that 6.1 will only be available on the next gen devices while maybe some current devices will get the 6.1 lite that is supposed to come with the new Curve series.

Like I said. Just a guess.

6.1 will be legacy software once QNX rolls out.
