I have an 8310 and after doing the 4.5 upgrade, mine shows the digits, ie -256 for no service at all. Not really sure how this helps out, I just wanted to let everyone know.

If not by a code, some themes show this. Mine does, HTC theme, but it's limited to multiples of 10. (70%, 80%... ) Other themes may be more accurate.

No. You would need a theme with a battery meter that displays the percentage.

That indicates high speed data. Are you perhaps on WiFi?

You've only got 2 options. A theme that uses a percentage as a display, and checking in your status. Though there might be a secret code to display the status info, know one has discovered/revealed it yet.

Yes, it very well could be. If you like your theme and don't usually have reception problems, I'd access the dBM through status when needed.
