You can't... not without a virtual windows parallel type thing (can you tell I don't use a Mac?)

The use of virtual machine would make it harder porting the usb to it

Simple fact is that a BB OS is an executable program with a Windows .exe file extension.
If you don't have some way of handling that file type on a Mac, you can't install a leaked OS.

You can't. The last time I upgraded my OS, I had to use my pc at work rather than my Mac at home.
Long, short.
You can't.
Nothing much else needs to be said.
Mac OS X Leopard (version 10.5) or before will work via Parallels or vmware.
The timings of the USB port was changed from 10.6 upwards which means it doesn't connect back up to the phone once the erase of the OS has happened. So if your running anything from snow leopards or newer your out of luck.
^^ it's about the ONLY thing you can't do on a mac...
Yes they are over priced but find me ONE laptop that compares in design and i'll agree with you. Most companies are still making those useless chargers/plugs that you have to replace after the first year because it does not make a good connection with the laptop.
You can't you have to use a PC use your friends's PC or a neighbour
Or you can install windows via bootcamp or do virtualization
Just use someone else's PC

install window on your mac using bootcamp
thats what i do
@gladiator
thats the beauty of a Mac, you can install windows and mac in it
best of both world.
I use a iMac 27 on BootCamp exclusivly at the office and home and it works perfectly with Win7 and RIM's software. Never use mac os.
man this explains why I wasted hours trying to figure it out with vmware on my mac.... ARGH>... any fixes for this?
I have been using VMware fusion to load the updates. The 9800 doesn't update consistently because of the usb problem, but I haven't had problems with OS 7 phones. This was on 10.6.8. I just upgraded to 10.8.3, and haven't tried it yet with my 9900.
You definitely can. I have been doing it on my mac since I purchased my z10.
Here are the steps.
1. Purchase and install parallels
2. Install windows OS. I have windows 8.
3. Install blackberry link in parallels.
4. Uninstall blackberry link from the mac using Uninstall icon. This step is very important. It won't work if link is installed in both. Make a backup with link on the mac first.
5. Connect the phone. Parallels should prompt you to connect blackberry to windows. Select ok.
6. If it doesn't go to preferences in parallels and USB option and select connect blackberry to windows
7. Let windows link detect and connect to your device. Run autoloader and wait.
8. Reinstall link for mac and restart the mac. Unselect connect to windows in parallels. The device will connect to mac. Then restore from your backup.
Every time you want to install an autoloader you must Uninstall link for mac first. This is the trick with parallels.
Hope this helps.

No, you can't do that way with both Parallels and Fusion (vmware for MAC).
I try it many time, in my 9900 or Z10. It'll stop after the device reboot (after step connecting to bootrom). I try with many cable and see maybe the USB doesnot have enought power.
When i try it with same port (I'm run my Bootcamp via Paraallels), but with the real Bootcamp (not via parallels) it can run perfect.
What goes around comes around.
No Mac. No Netflix.
