can send email, but not recieve-gmail

hey guys, i just got my blackberry...convert from iPhone. everything is working well, but email. I have a gmail account, and when i try to set it up i get the home screen icon, etc. I can send emails just fine, but recieved emails go to my Messages folder, instead of [email protected] folder. In addition, i can't send emails to myself. any ideas?

u can't send email to urself using bb with gmail. call it a bug. try to send another test email from another email account to ur gmail...100% i'm sure u will ge it.

strange, but not that big of a deal. Now the next problem, recieved emails only go into my "Messages" folder, not the respective "[email protected]" folder.
