According to other posts, 5.1 will actually be 6.0. Based on OS 5 with new UI.

Where does it even mention 5.0? let alone bypassing it?

This 6.0 stuff is getting crazy, they havent even fully released 5.0 i feel like, i hope its all just rumors or damn RIM make up your mind lol.

5.0 is already out. Only Big Red has not released their official version yet. I agree with TheWonderingSoul in that if 6.0 does come out, it will probably be what 5.1 should have been...

Yeah I doubt verizon or any other carrier would just skip to 6.0 when they haven't released 5.0 yet(verizon).

I have a friend who works @ a corporate Sprint store and she informed me that Sprint will be the first company to release a 5.1 release! She said that Sprint is still testing it and perfecting it. Seems like Sprint does have SPRINT SPEED! The release is iminent though according to her!

You guys realize the actually numbers set for each build is done arbitrarily by RIM, right?

Edit: Not completely arbitrarily. However, there is no authoritative road map for what they MUST number what features.

All you can say from that screenshot is new features are coming...what they number the build is up to them. So you can't say it's what x.x SHOULD'VE been, because other than RIM, no one knows what was SUPPOSED to be in x.x.
