I'm gonna build my own OS. Now, this is where I'm gonna get flamed, I need to know what are the file names for the browser from the 5.0 hybrid, and also the names for the mms/sms from .86. I noticed there is an internal browser, which I think is the search function within the phone. Any insight? I wanna use .113 as a base, add the mms from .86, the browser from 5.0, and be done. So anyone in the know, what are the files named in the OS' I named?

Also, I think I've gotta DL .86, install, get the mms/sms file out of the java folder, then delete .86 files, DL 5.0/.122 hybrid, extract the 5.0 browser, delete it (which will be under the guise of .113 in common files), then DL .113, install it, remove the sms/mms and browser files, replace them with .86 and 5.0, then install it through DM.

Sounds like it'll work to me. Anyone got any ideas? Please don't flame too much. I'm tryin to figure it out and everyone's gotta start somewhere.

the browser files are in there along with the others. so if you only want the browser files, just hand pick them out of the zip.

Yeah, 99.999998% of our convo was an argument. Had a little trouble earlier. He didn't help. He just flamed my cheeks whilst I figured it out myself. He turned my 501s into 499s. And then said, see. All you needed was some flamage.

Nah, never mind the flames. should've just left him to his own devices. You do good work, and if he can't recognize that, leave him be. He's arrogant, and seems to know just enough about what he's doing to be dangerous, but not enough to make things work by himself, or he wouldn't have asked.

If he only wanted input from certain people, he could have put that in the OP.

I just thought of something, which I think is what's reffered to as "slimmed". Deleting the Wordmole, Flicker, Facebook, and other stuff I don't use. Just to clean it up a bit.

And there's like, 8 or 9 files with "browser" in them. Like browser_ninja and other really random stuff. I'm guessing replace any and all that mention "browser."

I think I've got it from here. I'll just backup my phone and give it a shot. Who knows. An awesome new hybrid could get created. Either that or a convienient Storm bricker app.

My post was in response to the fact that you asked for help, got it, but apparently weren't satisfied with the source. Original post will be deleted, I actually came into this thread because I was interested, and in hindsight, you likely did the same thing I did, which was post while others where posting, missing the fact that something else was going on.

Yeah, I was posting while he was posting. I just didn't think to include OneOfaKindDPC in my list. I damn sure will from now on! Yeah, bigman2 and I have been round and round. Usually about communism haha. Occasionally about the Storm's performance. All of whicch I admittedly serve up in an in-your-face approach. I'm very oppinionated and and LOVE debate. A dangerous combo for forums. I'm deleting the post in question.

Try the WinZip site. You can get a fully functional trial for, i think, 45 days. Same with WinRar.

As for the debate, same here, sometimes it's a struggle not to unload with both barrels. I try to keep it low on here, as i realize that there is a good chance of misinterpretation when dealing in text.

I have stumbled upon something confusing though. There are 4 browser files in 5.0, but in .113 there are 10 browser files? I'm gonna just replace the 4 from 5.0 and leave the other 6 from .113 alone and see what that does.

hey oneofakind, i have a question for ya. i downloaded your .122 slim with mms fix, added in word mole and brickbreaker, and changed the radio file in the CDMA folder to the .109 radio cuz it seems to be the best so far. i basically use my phone for...well a phone first, email, sms and mms text, and bb messenger, plus the games. i dont need all the other crap (vznavigator, visual voicemail, blah blah blah). i should be ready to install this on my phone, right? ive loaded different leaked OS's already so i know the procedure there, but i wanted to make sure i had the 2 games plus bb messenger on the .122 OS with the .109 radio. im runnin .122/5.0 hybrid and holdin steady at 40-47mb memory. im tryin to boost it up to above 50 on boot so i think your slim well help. thanks for the help!
