I know, I'm going to sound like a noob, but who cares...if we can get our hands on this, someone with an m, or even me can at least try to load it, and find out for sure. I know I'm probably wrong, but its worth a shot

No - it's not worth a shot. There is no true OS 5.0 solution for the 8330m. Accept it and move forward =)
To All:
Nathanix team is on this. We have the radio file and most of the stuff from the .438 OS. We are organizing it and preparing it for release. Be prepared !
since you are a developer of these os's, can you shed some light on why it is so difficult with these m devices to develop something? I know someone tried a while back, but just couldnt get it to work
There is no reason why you can't load a 4.5 OS on your BB, unless your carrier's service books don't support 4.5
sorry for muddying up this thread... but what exactly do you mean? What effects do the service books have on an OS? How can you tell if the service books do support it?
Seriously, why would large carriers *cough - Verizon* be all that concerned with approving a new OS on an old phone when they are putting a large portion of their resources in Android?
I have to agree with this. Verizon has not officially released an updated OS for the Storm2, even though the 9520 is getting love. Verizon is really forgetting their BlackBerry customers and putting all their eggs in the Droid basket. I hope it works for them, because I really don't want Verizon to go under (at worst) or take a step back in services and technology (at best). However, I wish they would remember the BlackBerry customers who are spending the same amount per month as the Droid customers, and release an official updated OS
Of course, their is the possibility I'm wrong, and Verizon is waiting to release the ULTIMATE OS for the 9550. I almost said that with a straight face.
Ok so from what I understand, nobody can get their hands on this new OS because the 8330's from boost are being shipped out with 5.0 already on them, so that's why there's no DL link anywhere. Somehow those over at nathanix already got their hands on it....and are creating an even newer hybrid???
At least that's what I gather from these posts. Honestly I'd be happy just with .438 so nathanix if you have that can you dish it out?
Unless they have to extract the OS piece by piece and that's why its taking so long....but we 8330 users have waited this long thus far, what's another day or so (hopefully)

I used the .438 Java/Radio I received and am uploading a home made installer
will need some people to test it and let me know if it works as my g/fs 8330 isn't here
Try at your own risk!
Please backup your OS folder and BB before trying, just in case!

ETA: 20 minutes
wll cant wait to see some one try it and comment about it. I did try the .230 version and memory was a big factor on my desicion of downgrading to 4.5 hopefully this one will work smoother than the non official one.
This is weird...i found the link, it DL's the entire os?? thats what its saying...maybe somebody more experienced than me should try this out. here's the link that i was able to find:
Ok it seems like it is the full OS...its asking me to install it onto the pc, which i wouldnt have to if it were a simple .438 file. I already have the leak installed on my pc. If thats true then i think i just posted the first link for this new OS.....or i could be horribly mistaken haha! but i'm gonna install it now!!
2nd edit: Its just the aforementioned hybrid but i have faith in nathanix busting it out soon

Hmmm, interesting. I think I'll wait to hear some results before I take the plunge. My 8330 is running perfect on 4.5.0.175 and I'm waiting for my Essex to make the 5.0 jump really. Anybody got a word on free mem left after this? If I can't get 25MB free with some apps, it's a deal breaker for me....
Does anyone knows if this phone has true MMS or just the picture link? Also, is it based on the device or the network? I have a Sprint 8330 that still gets the links, even though I'm running Nathanix's 8.25.
This is not an OS update through Boost Mobile. The 8330's they are using are brand new from RIM with 5.0 loaded on them, and when plugged into the computer through DM the update is coming directly from RIM, not Sprint or Boost.

Unfortunately I believe MMS is controlled by service books, so Sprint's 8330 will continue to get picture mail links no matter what OS is on it
