- wondering if there is another mirror for the rom. Cause i've been trying the since 3 hours to download the file from rapidshare, but just can't retrieve the entire file. The process always broke up.03-08-09 09:15 AMLike 0
- Crucial_XtremeRetired ModeratorIt wouldn't call it hugely annoying, either, but it is pretty darn annoying, IMO. But given the lack of a change log with the beta OSes (I'm not complaining - it's the price you pay for this), I don't know if this is a bug or a change in how things are supposed to work. Will still require a behavior mod on my part.
Still wondering about battery life. Haven't done much, granted, but I pulled it off the charger, opened up GMaps, got a fix, exited, and my battery already dropped 2% (according to QuickLaunch Device Info). Don't think I've seen it do that before. But who knows, it's early, and I've only had 2 sips of coffee so far. Maybe I'm not thinking straight yet.

Is this still a good build in what you've heard, Mr. Xtreme? I haven't noticed any glaring defects, but I also haven't had much time to really play. Have to get ready for a few hours in the office.03-08-09 09:27 AMLike 0 - I like the menu button change. It's how it worked on the Storm and I thought it was a good idea. I use the back button to close the menu.
The status text issue on the homescreen was resolved in .245 (introducing a new bug with the profiles menu text being hidden unless highlighted) but it is back with this build (and the profiles menu issue is as well).03-08-09 09:45 AMLike 0 - 03-08-09 09:58 AMLike 0
- Maybe its just me, but simply stating your free memory after the update doesn't really mean too much. Everyone has different apps installed, so everyone's free memory will vary.
Stating that you have 53.5megs free after the upgrade sounds great, but if you had 53.4megs before the upgrade, I don't see it as a big deal.
I think it would be more helpful if we do a battery pull prior to the upgrade and state free mem, then state the free mem post-ugrade. This way, we'll see the true affect the new version has on memory.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com03-08-09 10:23 AMLike 0 - Is everybody having this problem? It's not like its nearly as important as signal strength, which I've been waiting on someone to say something about, but it would annoy the **** out of me. So is this font/title clipping thing happening on the phone of every person running .247? Also what is the difference in signal strength? Also can we get a few more post on battery life and wifi connections please? I've already downloaded the OS but I really want to know what's what before I do the install. Thanks to everyone who has provided useful information so far.03-08-09 10:23 AMLike 0
- just reinstalled the new os and was fully installed by the desktop manager, and just reinstalled the back up copy which was saved before the install and everything is back to normal!!!! yeah!!!!
before you install if you make a back up of your docs etc, then install the new OS then reinstall your back up copy will this save you the time of having to change all the profile settings and log back in to everything again>
as thats what it seems to have done!
never done that before but might be worth trying nxt time!03-08-09 10:26 AMLike 0 - Maybe its just me, but simply stating your free memory after the update doesn't really mean too much. Everyone has different apps installed, so everyone's free memory will vary.

Anyways, here I am downloading this release but after doing .245 last week and then going back to .237 I think I'm going to wait this one out... unless I get convinced otherwise, so far not the case. .250 anyone03-08-09 10:34 AMLike 0 - Maybe its just me, but simply stating your free memory after the update doesn't really mean too much. 54mb after a bat. pull is all well & good but IMO, it's more important 12hrs later. Just thinking out loud.03-08-09 10:40 AMLike 0 -
