In my hands I am holding 2 Blackberry devices.

On one side is a Curve from AT&T on which BB Messenger is performing normally.

On the other is my brand new 8830 WE from Verizon which for whatever reason will not receive BB Messenger invitations, nor will it ever acknowledge that the Curve has accepted the invitation. I can (and have) sent invites from the 8830 to the Curve, but the 8830 is refusing to play ball. Invites sent from the curve to the 8830 are lost somewhere in cyberspace.

Please help. Before the 8830 commits suicide by leaping to its death from an open window.

    Many Thanks.

Hmm that is a new one. Just checking but you are adding by PIN right?

I have attempted to add by PIN, email, and if something doesn't give soon, smoke signal via flaming BB.

I'm having the SAME EXACT problem. Someone told me to resend my service books via my service provider's website, and it still doesn't work.

I too am getting aggravated by this.

P.S. what's your PIN, see if it works

Both devices have a BB data plan correct? Internet is working fine on the 8830?

    For both devices?

Internet works fine on both. Everything ELSE works fine on both.

How can one little device cause SO much aggrivation?

Is the status for each device set as available?

All status are set to available... This is frustrating

With help from Atoth3j (AJ), I am happy to announce that a workaround has been found.

If you delete the address book entry of the person you are trying to add to BB Messenger, and then create a new entry for this person, with no information other than their name & PIN (no phone #'s, no email addresses)
the requests & approvals will seem to go through.

It is at least a temporary solution.
