It seems the pre-bundled IM apps are also updated - Windows Live Messenger is at 2.5.31, BB AppWorld shows latest version at 2.5.30

    no prob schgittyfour.

Gotta say, other than the minor speed bump with google maps, this is a really really good build. If I were to build my own hybrid, this OS is what it would look like.

You're off base on both. Look at the 9000 or any other RIM device. RIM does not stop Development on its devices. Dev always continues. There will continue to be new revisions for the 9700 and all other devices not matter how perfect or not each new compile is.

    Keep 'em coming, then...

Nothing feels more comfortable than to know that your phone manufacturer are still finding ways on how to improve the device that you bought 3 or more years ago.

At least, RIM's still there when others have just left their previous models to rot when they jumped ship from the OS they once were trying to call their own to the one they're on now...

Anybody knows who is that that I'm talking about...???

I have a few more hours left before I leave work so I'll wait for more feedback. But, so far it seems like a worthy upgrade. Just got my 9700 3 days ago and upgraded to .405 immediately - happy with it.

14minutes left on my second attempt at downloading this, i hope it works this time......seems like the reviews are good for the first few hours so far...405 was good but the "white screen of death" scared me a little and boot up time was brutal. and i really like th idea of enable/disable ENTER for SMS.....keep the reviews coming, i will be with you guys on this OS as soon as possible

no lagging here. As a disclaimer, I remove a LOT of stuff before I load an OS though. I've never had any major lag issues with any 9700 OS.

man this upgrade sounds like a gem, too bad I have dealt with horrible OS updates in the past which leave me feeling iffy about messing around with the OS

    Files from the OS

I remove all the games (klondike, sudoku, etc etc), voice activated dialing, wallpapers, sample video, myfavs an all the associated files, and some other things here and there.

Google Maps seems to work...IF you stay loaded on the screen, move the trackpad around a little, etc. etc.

Sitting there on its own, it does nothing

I remove the video, the ringtones, the wallpapers, T-Mo enabler files and VVM files (I use YouMail). This saves me about 14MB.

Is anyone else having problems getting their 9700 to update? AppLoader and DM both fail to connect to the ROM. It did the same thing with the last update.

I don't get this. It is very frustrating.
