I have a BB9900 on OS7.1.0.267

Everything seems to be working fine EXCEPT the email.

I just purchased this phone 3 days ago, and I've set up the email right away.

HOWEVER　I can only see the emails from 3 days ago as opposed to all the emails in my inbox. I can still receive new email, BUT I JUST CANT CHECK MY OLD EMAILS.

I am using GMAIL as my email. Calendar and contact sync works all fine.

I've tried to delet my email and readding, I've tried to reset the entire device, called my carrier, reset service book. Nothing works



ANYONE HAVE SOLUTION FOR THIS??!! PLEASE!!

there is nothing wrong with your BB.. thats what it does...

but i had a bb9780 on os 6 and it was able to push all my emails from like one month ago (over 300 emails)

I think you can configure this for Gmail. And you can also do in server search using Advanced Search in your BB inbox. It just works, as a long gone IT guru used to say.

perhaps I am doing it wrong?

What do you mean nothing shows up? Start with this:

Go to Messages, Options, Messages Display and Actions.
Scroll all the way down to find: Days to keep Messages.
Choose your preference. Mine is set to 30.

Probably you are going to have to remove the account and add it again, then it will pull all those messages.

It sounds like you upgraded your handset? Did you use the device switch wizard in Desktop Manager to transfer everything across to the new device?

The initial polling of old messages ONLY happens the first time you add the account to your BIS account - if you delete the account and re-add or put your SIM into a new handset and transfer the account using only the email setup tool on the handset the old messages will not be moved to the new handset.

yes I have upgraded my handset

However I did not use the device manager to transfer the data from my old phone (Bold 9780) to my new phone (Bold 9900)

I already wiped all the data on my 9780 already, and I didnt back up

Is there anyway to pull them back??

If you didn't back up or use the device switch wizard I don't believe so unless you ask your carrier to delete your BIS accountant recreate it.

As others have said, with Gmail you can remotely search your server inbox if you are looking for a specific message

Can you go to whichever mail provider you use on their website and mark them all as unread? then send yourself a blank mail, that'll push them all through, won't it?

I even tried to make a new email account and forwarded all the old emails to the new email account.

it wouldnt push the old emails as well

As I said, I think the only way to achieve what you want is for your carrier to delete your BIS account and let you create a new one - then when you add you setup your email the server will think this is the first time you have added the account and download the old messages

there is nothing wrong with your BB.. thats what it does...

absolutely correct, it doesn't download the existing messages from the server to your device, just the ones you receive now that you're on BIS.
