Are they developing a version for OS5?
I asked the same question and all I received were sarcastic answers. I did get the recommendation to check out bChat. That works on my 9530 running OS 5 and it's only $.99. It would be easier to use with a trackball rather than the touch but I use it all of the time. I hope this helps!
Man I haven't heard anything about it yet. I used beyond 160 a lot with my storm and then since I got the Tour and OS. 5 I have missed it being right in the options menu from inside a text. You can still access is from its icon, but you don't always know you are gonna type a long text before you start ranting and raving and its too late. I sure hope that they come out with a version that is compatible with 5 soon.

Well I'm still on 4.7 but if I buy it I want to be able to use it for OS5 when the final version comes out. But, it doesn't seem as easy for them to do it with the threaded messaging.
I'm totally not saying this as a sarcastic answer, but isn't it just as easy to hit enter when you run out of the 160 as it would be to hit menu and select beyond160?
I know it still doesn't make it one text like you want, and believe me before the threaded messaging I missed being able to type long texts without having to start a new text (I switched from T Mobile to Sprint so I lost that ability) but now that I can just hit enter and keep typing it doesn't bother me much. That might be just me though.
But the problem with that is they get the end of the message first, making it completely inefficient.
Exactly. It seems like this is a very easy choice. This is exactly what I've been doing. On some occasions, I forget that this is SMS, and not AIM or BBM, and send extra messages.
& This has never happened to me or to anybody else, if you were referring to the OS 5 method.
method doesn't work well if you're cutting/pasting.
Since having 5. The threaded texting has solved the annoyance of having to open a new text again. Just salty I paid for the app previously, lol.
