Well I left the .714 in place, swapped out contents for RC6B1 - Java, sfi and axl files

Two very annoying issues I was having prior to using a BL Hybrid were:

    1) I would make a call and the screen would say calling but there were no ... after it and the call never went through. Sometimes it would go trough after a couple of tries and sometimes I would have to do a battery pull.

    2) I would attempt to end a call and even though the screen looked like the call ended it didn't and I would after to do a battery pull.

Once I installed the BL Hybrid I no longer had these issues until yesterday.

I'm going to give .714 another day or two to see if this continues and if it does I'll go back to .658

I hate to say it but Zocster currently has similar ADR and he is a very high user.

    Thats on a 9320 running RC6 alpha
I wonder what apps are running in the background, and how the OS is shrinked...

Probably it is CPU that is consuming less than that is on 9900 devices.

How can you determine that OS is "settled in" ? I follow rules and make battery pulls every 5-6 hours, but how to say when it is ready ?

Not sure how to define the already 'settled in' to you, but you can feel that your bb is more responsive, battery drain on its bestest performance, etc. Only you know how is your device is working and how long can it stays regarding its battery life. Anyways, not every Official / Hybrid suits you like everyone else did, you have to try each of them that suits you the best. Hope this clarify your thoughts!

If you use a memory and/or battery monitor, it will show you your results and things typically get better after 2 days. If you're not using any of those apps, just enable Device Analyzer and check through that...If I haven't answered your queries properly, one of the more seasoned vets, so to speak will correct me where I'm wrong.

    Hi mate... not yet
Been away the last couple of weeks since all the fun stuff dropped for the 9900. Still running my old .658 Java with .523 sfi brew, but looking forward to loading up the latest BL Ultimate RC when I return next week.
Not looking forward to the weather though! Prefer this...

hahahaha phill, stop winding people up,

Settling time is dependent on the amount of data on your phone, email accounts, bbm contacts and groups,

mine usually takes 2-3 days to settle properly.

Hey guys...So I don't why but I haven't seen any improvement in battery life at all. Is my Bold immune to all these hybrids? lol

I'm willing to give it another try with another build...so what do you suggest?

I have a Roger's branded phone running on the ATT network.
Should I try the Special ATT Edition? Or????

I would 100% recommend using the ATT build as you are on their network.

Let us know how you get on,

btw, how long did you let the build settle from your last install?

    Quick question......

Does ALT - RCaps - DEL work the same as a battery pull?

    If not why not?

No it is not the same as a battery pull.

It is termed as a soft reset.

Thanks..ok will give that a go.
Well, it's day 6 now, and my ADR around 6-7

I'm not a heavy user by any means...BBM, texts, a few emails...don't browse much either. Maybe 1 or 2 calls/day.
    Apps:
    Whatsapp
    BeWeather (set to manually update)
    AOSLED
    Twitter
    FB
BB Maps (which I haven't even used yet lol...just in case I get lost you know)
    BatteryEx
    App World
    Fishloader
    Photobucket Mobile
    QW
    Tapatalk

I have to mention that I had all these on my 9810 and never had a drain this bad
    And I ALWAYS close everything.

So that's it...I will try the ATT Special and see how that works for me

    The easy explanation is:

think of it was your pc, if you pull the plug, no power
(unless you have a laptop + remove battery ),

If you ctr-alt-del, your software reboots but the power is still on to the board.

It is the same theory on your bb

Both RC6B1 and 694 at&t have great ADR and good temps, if you use RC6B1 with .741 SFI the temp is lil bit warmer, I think it's up to your personal like, I personally installed 694 at&t on my son's 9860, I like the speed of 694...

Sent from my BlackBerry 9900 using Tapatalk
Thanks Sator. I am using .714 on 9860 and was waiting for your next hybrid based on .714. Now, based on your recommendation, I am going to test .694 with your hybrid and see its result.

No, don't worry the Java is the same.
You might like to download the UMTS and alx files from the full OS of RC6b1.
