Go with RC5A it's smooth as :D
have went back to RC4B, too much memory loss, too much memory loss. Did I just say that? Battery usage wasnt quite as good as on the RC4B
Thanks for the reply.
Are the alx files in RC5A modified to prevent duplicate modules like the original Dakota alx files created? :D
Indeed it is
Well, yes. :)
Why dont you give it a longer run and let the OS settle ?
Give it a longer run and let the OS settle down !
If RC5 is like RC4 then it might take longer than 2 - 3 days to settle. More like 3 - 5 days.
I agree, when we load a new official OS they say it takes some time for it to settle hence we should do the same here as well ! Not sure but anyone correct me if i am wrong ?
not if you are using the 9900, zoc has made the OS complete.
Yes, just extract to the directory of your base os
My phone on RC5a had settled within the 1st 24hrs, i was getting lower than 1.5% ADR and the highest it has really gone to during the day was 7% during a long call on 3G.
That reading is through meterberry or device analyzer ?
I had the same impression...
...and I think the settle time might be a bit more than what ReBeL25 said...
I just reloaded again last night cause I rushed through and shrunk out password keeper by accident :o This time I'll monitor closely. No issues from before, besides it settling in.
I have been on RC5 for almost 2 days now and for me it has worked.
My usage pattern is as follows :
Around 400 bbms
27 sms sent / 43 received
110 emails
2 hours connected to the bluetooth device
BeWeather picking up updates every 15 mins.
Wi fi for around an hour
Roughly 11 hours since charge and sitting on 60% with MDR @ 0.8%
Hi Ian
Sorry, just so I am clear are you saying the alx files are already prepared and modified like the Dakota ones that we had to use and overwrite in RC2 and RC3?
I want to install RC5A on my 9900.
Please advise.
Thanks :D
Device Analyser, I dont use meterberry
And yes is the answer to the alx files, Zoc has put the updated ones into the OS
RC3, 4 & 5 have the complete OS for the 9900, all you have to do is copy and paste over the JAVA, UMTS and alx files ( copy and replace)
The only thing i did different this time round was that i wiped my device and off course did shrink through BBHtools.....
Thanks for the reply Maxx and Ian
What base OS is best, .523 or .569 to install over?
Depends on which one is good for your region, i have personally used .523 this time.
Less taking more modding lol i want BerryLicious 7 with lots of good stuff :P
If i could understand how to make a hybrid i would i havent done any modding from the days of the iphone 2g/3g :D
Only messing you guys are doing a top job take all the time you need iain
Hi Maxx
Thanks for your reply.
I'm based in London UK. Where are you?
Obviously, we are still using .523 SFI, right? :D
I'm not a Blackberry newbie you know. Yeah, already settled in pretty well, been running it more than 3 days, and I know when is the time that one OS already settled in. And I'm sure, RC5 is not playing well with my device. Same goes to other RC excluding RC4
Yes, .523 works for most in UK and yes sfi is as always .523:D
