Hi All,
i have been on this hybrid os for 3days on my 9790 and the following observations post 6 battery pulls all having an 8 hour interval between them:
battery life not very much better than the official .569
faster rebooting after the first two reboots ( now it reboots in 55 secs flat ) WOW..
brower is lightning quick
Wi Fi is super good, good signal strenght i mean
don't know about others but radio is the best ever i had to date
All the above said it is still settling down i guess, will post for other findings later.
Thanks Zocster for your efforts towards making life easier for 7.1 users.
I just want to add another thing here, i was not aware of hybrid builds and would not have taken this plunge but for a discussion which i saw in .569 official release. Thanks guys for making me aware of this and letting me have this wonderful OS>>> The BEST TO DATE for my 9790
Battery life fluctuates depending on where you are and your signal, The battery drain levels for me have actually been just above 1% most days and closer to 2-3% for my busier ones.
This gives me till after 11PM till my battery struggles even with an early start for work.
You can add this from the standard OS directory, just select add application and point it to the os directory, then select password keeper and install/update
In a word, no sorry. |Reload is required
I you are still struggling to open and have tried alt+ BBDA you can push the cods from the OS directories using a tool like BBHTools
This would save you reloading again.
i shrank my os a bit too much.. so this is what i did..
uninstalled os and reinstalled fresh os's on computerand repeated the steps for making the hybrid
left my phone with the shrank hybrid i put on first
used loader to install os again..
and all it did was put back the things i shrunk. :D
good eh?
Thanks! I was afraid you'd say that. :)
Hii i am new here,
I i love this hybrid, damm my battery life is sooo much BETTER thanks guys.
But after i did some batterly pulls,
i keep getting this in my BB.
i dont know how to delete this.
could anyone help me pls..
ps: sorry for my bad English:mad:
Sorry, what are you getting, that looks like a normal folder with games in it?
If it is a game that you didnt have before then see below for posts regarding what you can do.
If its a carrier pushed app, you just need to hide it, put it in a folder as every time you send service books it will get pushed with it.

If you hold your finger on the icon on the touchscreen it should bring up a sub menu giving you the option to hide or delete the icon.
Aaah okey thanks, for your quike Reply..
and i just hide them.
but you cant delete them right i can only hide it.
You can delete them, but they'll only return next time Voda push their service books to your phone. Best to just hide and forget about them.
Okay guys thanks alot ,
Still loving this hybrid
Installed this hybrid on my friend's 8520
And he is very pleased :)
(Edit)
I was joking lol
He would be, you managed to get an os7.1 hybrid working on an os5 phone, takes some doing ...lol
Wait, what?
Do we have a list of all the COD versions on this Hybrid somewhere?
Options > Device > Application Management > (Menu) Modules
Thanks ended up using BBSAK > Read System > Save Read.
Its funny, but i find i had better battery life and better mobile network signal on the first release:confused: i think i will downgrade to your first release :) i am in the uk :)
Which radio file are you using ?
RC2 seems happier using .523 rather than .569.
I guess im using .569, thats the os i pated the java files over and its not just the radio, my battery life is quite bad on rc2, but i have good battery life on the first release, so i think ill stick with that
Also, is it good to use the 'Dakota' files, what do they do?
Thanks :)
