Vodafone seems to like .658 better than .714 for example.
Maybe your carrier will work better with the .714 you have just installed, hope so mate.
Update: its been 7hrs since I installed rc7b with 714 os and base, I'm getting extremely good results!! I was on ADR idle time 0.0 for 2 hrs I had 100% battery then it my avg ADR changed to 0.5% for me it has been settling really fast this is the best bl so far for me!! :) so happy

Re: BerryLicio.us Ultimate hybrid for most OS 7.1 devices
Just swapped out OS & sfi from 658 to 714 (voda UK)
Funnily - on Indian Voda 3G, now my signal strength reads -77 dBm
Lets see how RC- 7 beta1 with 714 os/sfi from Voda UK now work.

Re: BerryLicio.us Ultimate hybrid for most OS 7.1 devices
Further to my so-so results posted on the last page with RC7B1 (with 658 sfi), I figured that I'd delete some apps... Deleted Advanced OS and LED, a small battery icon app, TinyMeter, Installed MeterBerry (don't know why I swapped TinyMeter for MeterBerry). Thinking of replacing gtalk with IM+ to see if that has an impact but too many changes at one time to track results.

Re: BerryLicio.us Ultimate hybrid for most OS 7.1 devices
Having trouble editing post above also -- curious if it's a CB issue generally
Was going to say that the small battery icon app is likely part of OE&LED

Re: BerryLicio.us Ultimate hybrid for most OS 7.1 devices
I am just wondering with these low ADR (<3%) is that really means that your blackberry can work without charging for almost or more than 2 days?

BerryLicio.us Ultimate hybrid for most OS 7.1 devices
Want to try rc7 on my bold 9900 over the weekend (uk on virgin - (orange))
Quick question I have the base and the file off the front page for 9900 bold rc7 and understand the wipe process but when I did my current (rc5) there was also a bold9900 specific file to drop into the mix - do the files I have now include this ?
Regards
Damian

Just uninstall the OS software from your PC, reboot, reinstall the stock OS, and install to your phone as normal; hopefully that will reset any issues stemming from a bad install.

Re: BerryLicio.us Ultimate hybrid for most OS 7.1 devices
RC7 B1 last night I got new record for me 0.4% ADR on 3G :D. Flat line with 0-es then 1 % then 0, then again 1%. Perfect build, fast and stable, no memory lost

Re: BerryLicio.us Ultimate hybrid for most OS 7.1 devices
BL team, is it possible to use 9900 .sfi, on another bb that use os. 7? let say use it on 9380? since they haven't got official os for both 714 and 658?

Unfortunately not, the sfi is device specific.

Re: BerryLicio.us Ultimate hybrid for most OS 7.1 devices
Moving onto voda UK 714 with RC-7beta1, the voicecalls quality, overall connectivity and in general all aspects of the 9900 with my voda India 3G network appears to be much smoother & quicker over the earlier 714 Telenor Serbia & 658.
The OS also settled in very quickly as can be observed from the ADR.
Meanwhile, I now see my earlier -58 ~ -62 dBm 3G signal strength is now at -77 dBm.

Attachment 123332 Attachment 123333 hey i done similar, base voda uk .714 base and .658 sfi and only done it lastnight, settled quick only got 3% adr.. although am sure the .658 and .714 sfi are the same they have the exact same name :O i am using the .658 sfi because on the earlier .714 when i messed with mic, it rebooted itself :O so yeah, all blackberrys are differently temperamental though lol ;)
if you swap sfi do you have to do the whole upgrade process again or can you just do a quick swap?
TIA!

Re: BerryLicio.us Ultimate hybrid for most OS 7.1 devices
We havent done a full OS package as most people are now just creating their own base,
Its not too hard to Install the Base OS and then overwrite the JAVA folder with the Hybrid mix.

Re: BerryLicio.us Ultimate hybrid for most OS 7.1 devices
I have to confess that I have been intrigued by the results that @ Phill and @ Audio have been getting with the Voda large .714 .sfi so have given in to temptation and am installing RC7B1 with that base.
Findings etc to follow.

So...I reverted back to RC5 fixed with browser patch last night...was kinda buzzed so fell asleep as it was loading....woke up at 6:15AM confused as f|_|ck and my Bold had the 'welcome screen' major brain fart....at work now, after restoring and all that...I kinda liked the browser and it just felt right for me...this is in no way intended to bash the work of the other hybrids, this is my flavor, and I'm just sharing my thoughts

Interesting.. Have been tempted to install a different version of BL. Going backwards would be an interesting experiment. As you say, nothing against the great work by the Berrylicious team. It's all their work. Just certain OS versions/mixes work better on different devices. I wish with hindsight that I kept a diary or something of how each version worked for me.
I noticed you're in GTA. Which carrier? I thought carrier used to be in the information on the left (old CB). I'm w/Rogers btw.

What a wally !!!
Not sure what the device info should read or indeed if it will be different bewteen the two versions I had created.
Showing Bundle 1909 Platform 5.1.0.532.
I think it is the .714 one as temp is running a little higher than .658 did on RC6 but only by a couple of degrees

Bundle version for both will stay at 1909 but the radio version would be different. Cellular radio version 5.0.2.1.1 SV45 for .658

Cheers Max
Radio Version in Device Info is 5.0.2.1.1 SV4-8
Guess that I did load the Voda Large .sfi version then
If I did then temp is looking good at a steady 20c indoors.
Phill does seem to be the Voda UK Guru on here so I'm glad that he steered me in this direction.
Seems to be working well for @ audio too
Most odd when in the past we have always been lead to believe that the smaller .sfi was best when there was a choice of two.

I thought My next load is V3:D
sfi smaller or larger is an intresting topic !!! I feel BL team has tested with smaller sfi as well !
Am kind of tempted to try with larger sfi now, have not got good results with 7a or b earlier.....decesions time ???????
