What do you mean by nightmare iFraser? The .sfi is abit lousy is it?
694, apps not loading correctly, sfi dropping off, app are all lower versions that 7.1.0.523
Just a few good reasons to not use it :)
694 is like 437 from the west
Hi zocster ifraser and all
I'm using your hybrid rc5 then rc5b2 since a few days...
I have trouble using the wifi hotspot tool... I can connect my playbook to my 9900, but then no network connection is available.... Appworld or any apps cannot work...
I have your java mix with the 569 sfi....
As far as i remember, when using the rc 3which i started with, that problem didn't occur...
Is it a bug of the hybrid ? Or maybe could you advise me on what to do about ?
Many thx !
That is an odd one, I too use my playbook attached by Hotspot and this has not occurred using any of the Hybrids.
Have you tried using a laptop through hotspot to check if you get the same issue, it could be the Playbook wifi issue. I have the latest Beta on my Playbook and it is quite stable with wifi connection but before it would drop off.
where could i get 714? :o
As for base OS, dont have. .714 not yet dropped for 9900 :)
Just being curious, I have tried AT&T 694 combined with RC6A and 658.
And after multiple wipe and reload, it just won't work on my 9900.
694, replaced java only with RC6A, error 602
694, replaced umts only with 658 sfi, constant reboot request
694, replaced all (java RC6A with 658 sfi), constant reboot request
658, replaced java only with 694, error 602
658, replaced umts only with 694 sfi, error 602
658, replaced java with RC6A and 694 sfi, error 602
I was gonna tried RC5 or earlier, but I gave up.
Now I'm back with 658 sfi and RC6A java
As Ian said...
Don't used 694 sfi with any hybrids, it will cause errors, hybrid has to be made specific for 694 only. just for fun I made one for 694, so far it's looking good...

And we will have that in testing asap, I am still not convinced that the radio will be better
than the 658 one but we can always try it.
Patiently waiting... :D I need to low my level of anxiety, soo... any medication or alcool will help Not having a heart atack :D
On a more serious note : do your awesome job, as always! :D and thanks for that!
I decided to skip .694 and went with rc6a-1 on .658...so far very smooth. One question, there were two sfi files, one being labeled .523, I went with the other. Which sfi is that--.658?

Hows the .694 sfi treating you Sator?
hi again ... !
tested from 2 other devices in addition of the playbook...
still the same : i connect to my hotspot without a problem, but then i can't navigate on net or use any apps requiring data...
should I try to change hotspot cod or sfi ?
is the rc6 alpha stable ? if yes i will upgrade and see...
else i'll downgrade.
thx !
BB bold 9900 OS BL Ultimate Hybrid RC5b2 (with .569 sfi)
BB Playbook 16 Go OS 2.1.0.560 beta
oh ok was confused then! thanks :)
For my carrier/Telkomsel, It's a lil bit fluctuated like 658, I had to change some cods to make it stable, and for 694 so far it's better than the original OS..., later on this build is gonna be tested, and for the 658 sfi, I'm still working on it, adding some 694 cods...

@Sator, have been on .658 for approx 36 hours now and if the initial experience is anything to go by then you have a winner on your hands.
A Cool sfi (maintains temp in the early twenties) and i personally have not had any fluctuations of signals and pretty smooth device (not as much as it was with 5b2), i did mention this yesterday and maintain the same.
Advice is well taken, would not touch .694 with a barge pole.......

Glad you are about as a fellow Voda user.
Have you been havin BIS issues with Voda today ?
My battery has been horrible and I had one large batch of e.mails come through all at one time and nothing before or since.
Can only get on internet via Wifi too.
Not encountered any issues with BIS today, could be an area specific issue !
Thanks seems OK now.
We had bb voda issues in uk, my personal one on orange ok so go figure - voda quoted 70% users had issue not voda specific.
Family are all on different non voda networks and no issues so we should buy lottery tickets if it really was only 30% ok
Regards
Damian
That sounds like the problem I was having here in South Florida on T-Mobile the other day. I thought it was something I did when loading RC5B2 but it turned out to be a RIM issue.
Why doesn't the BL team apply at RIM!? After being shown what you guys can pump out, free of bugs, fast as f*ck I don't see why you guys can't be on the OS team....just imagine lol ;)
