With all the defections to BB10 if the group is short of testers for the next release, count me in.

OS 7 is as good as it can get with .912 & .923 releases. The only thing in my opinion that could be improved is the device temp, rest is pretty solid. I feel it would be a while before we get a new OS for 7.1 devices.

I want to know if i can use os7.1.0.523 as a base, because the temperature of os7.1.0.523 is lower than other rom.and I feel the 923 is better than 912
you can use .523 with RC 11 or less.
IMO, if you can use RC15 with .923 it will certainly be the best your device can ever get.
Temp will be a tad high but device performance will be Awesome !

Got to agree that RC15 with .923 is pretty awesome.

Have had this OS running longer than any other since I got the phone in August 2011 and it just runs like a dream day after day after day.

Bugger all memory loss on my virtually App free 9900 (only Advance OS and MeterBerry)

Hope we do get a new OS soon as I am missing the loading and testing enjoyment of my phone. That said, it is hard to see how Sator can make the 9900 any better. Temp is out of his hands as it's all down to the .sfi which can't be messed with.

thats right, saw reports of 7.1.0.793 OS spotted but nothing since... only see that 7.1.0.923 were released for 9790 from various Indian carriers.

I agree this has been the best yet, however i need to do a re-install as its running bad now. Seems to get really slow sometimes and a bat pull helps it for a few hours.

totally agree with you on the high temperature issue, the rest of the function pretty good. Look at the bright sight, maybe the high temperature is the optimum temperature for hybrid RC15+923. Our BB9900 is like a ferrari ruuning on high speed.

lol, i think the Q is now at a stage where one can take a plunge..........totally different from Legacy devices. It's kind of best of both world's ( Blackberry & Andriod).

Other than the Keyboard I just can't see any BB in the Q.

No track pad, buttons, charging pins ....

It ain't a BB to me, the 9900 will probably be my last BB but I will keep it for as long as it keeps working. There is nothing else out there that interests me in the slightest.

Hey Legal, you should give it a shot. You'd be surprised at what 'type' of BlackBerry this is now that it is totally redone.

If they had kept the trackpad and row of buttons plus the charging points I would probably have given it a go, but for me it's just not a BB.

Could have been made by anybody.

Just give me a "supercharged" Bold and I'd be happy, the Q format just doesn't do it for me. I use the buttons and the trackpad far more than the touchscreen.

Only reason I wish I had one is all the messing about with leaked and hybrid OS's that I'm sorely missing at the moment.

    Hey

I have been trying to install hybrid RC 15 on 907 base on bb 9790.

I have wiped and installed the os around 10-15 times now. there seems to be some problem or the other....like random reboots - upto 20-30 reboots a day or whatsapp screwin up the phone....slowing it down and reboots.

I have backed up data.....then wiped with erase and installed the os (after replacing the java and other files except the languages folder from RC 15) and then restored the data.

Please help me to sort out this problem.....has been rebooting my phone like crazy now.

    Thanks

Problem might be that you say that you have replaced the Java files.

What you should do is overwrite the Base OS Java files with those from RC15.

BTW, did you know that .923 is now available for the 9790 ?

Yeah, do as Legal said. Just copy the contents of RC15 and paste it into the base .907
