04-19-13 12:51 AMLike 0 - You might be on to something. My SIM is a good 3 years old at this point. I was planning on getting a new one when the Q10 hit, but maybe I should just go grab one now.
Also, Sharma -- I use BBSAK to wipe my phone. I know that's not as crazy deep as Triple Wipe, but does it not wipe the sfi as well?

Once you get done with the triple wipe, your BlackBerry will just flash a red LED every 2 seconds, 3 times a pop. I usually take the SIM out at this point so I don't register before I restore, via DM [BBM groups thing, its weird].
Once it is in the blinking red state, just load the OS via loader, or BBH Tool if you've shrunken it. I've only used triple wipe when/if I am changing the sfi, and I can't complain.Last edited by sharma0702; 04-19-13 at 01:11 AM. Reason: needed A LOT of additional info

Do as usual, backup your data, click triple wipe and wait until your device blinking, click app. Loader and install the OS (if you use triple wipe, app. Loader will connect to ARM instead of JVM)
EDIT: Ah, figured it out... It was Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE)... It kept silently quarantining/blocking the temp files created by Triple Wipe. I turned off Real-Time Protection in the preferences, and it seems to be working now. When all is said and done, I'll report back if it fixed my network issue. I use both MSE and ESET Smart Security. Safer in general, but annoying when I actually want to do certain things... LOL!Last edited by ShnikeJSB; 04-19-13 at 01:24 AM. Reason: Added MSE update...

finally got a good one04-19-13 01:24 AMLike 0 - When I launch Triple Wipe, a command prompt window opens for a second and closes. Nothing else happens. My 9900 doesn't even bat an eyelash. What is happening? I've added Triple Wipe as an exception in my antivirus AND turned everything off. I tried launching TW and going into App Loader, and it still goes through JVM. Not sure what I am doing wrong?

Also, new signature! Woohoo! LOL!
That doesn't work for ESET. You can't force quit it. It's a security measure.Last edited by ShnikeJSB; 04-19-13 at 01:50 AM. Reason: Added reply about ESET...
04-19-13 01:46 AMLike 0 - just finish installing .923 base + RC15 and keeping .923 SFI as recommended by Sator and definitely have waaaaay different result and experience compared when I had my bad result with stand alone .923!!
Way faster signal and wifi lock, all my groups retained, and no lag whatsoever as I experienced before (actually I am a bit hesitant to re-install the OS again but no pain no gain hehe)
Thanks Sator, Sharma, Ian and all BL team!!
But thanks for your work, nevertheless, BL-Team!
Edit: Sounded offensive.

04-19-13 02:24 AMLike 0 - if it take looong time during bbgroup restore then actually it is a very good sign, you have better chance to have your group restored back without needed to sync through network.04-19-13 03:02 AMLike 0
- That happened to me yesterday, I got kicked from ALL of my groups, one was hanging.
The BL guys said to go offline, back up, battery pull, restore with connections off and go back to ввм.
It took ages for the 'Please wait creating groups....' To finish. I just turned on my PS3. When ввм restored I was back to ALL my groups miraculously. Just let the thing run its course, you should be fine.

Im pretty sure they will provide you with that.04-19-13 07:50 AMLike 0

Very fast boot time, and with every new build the Browser seems to get that little bit faster.
Still unconvinced by the .sfi Although the switching from Network to WiFi is very good the signal strength seems to be a little weak in low coverage areas particularly on 2G. I do a lot of Motorway miles in the UK where 3G coverage can drop out quite often so use 2G and Bluetooth when on the move.
Been using more juice that usual when on the move over known journeys with normal level of use so I'm guessing that it's working harder to find a 2G signal than before.
On overnight idle immediately settled in 0.5% but idles a little warmer than .902 but that may be due to higher ambient temparatures in the UK. Yes, Spring fianally seems to have arrived over here !!!
In use, the temp does not seem to go up by as much as .902/RC14 did so it's a case of swings and roundabouts so far.
Will give it some more settling time and battery pulls over the weekend and see how it performs over teh next working week.
Thanks as always to Sator, Sharma and the team. Keep them coming guys cos I don't see BB10 anywhere in my future at the moment even when the Q10 drops.04-19-13 11:53 AMLike 3 -
