    Use base .861
I installed the RC14 yesterday, but everytime I reboot my BB, it says that"The backup file is corrupt, if possible, create another backup file and try again,or choose another restore option",I really don't know why, I just restored backup after I installed the RC 14, anything that I did is wrong, I really don't know, all steps are the same to before(when I install RC13)

    ATTENTION FOLKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got instructions from Sator to let you guy in on some information!

If you happen to download the .912 SFI file, you will have to change the name in order for it to work!! Sator said TMO users can leave it as is since you folks have the complete alx files!

It will show as rim0x07001204j.sfi, just REMOVE the 'j' at the end of the file name, and that's it! Happy loading!!!

I deleted the original upload, and re-uploaded it without the 'j' in the filename, to make it easier for now.

Thanks a million! This means a lot to us!!

We ALMOST got the full OS minus some of the alx files we need for .912....I'll wait for another OS to drop and play with what is given to us lol.

Thanks Shnike, it's a pretty good SFi, stronger signal strenght and wifi locking, at least as good as .825 SFI or better.

As long as your ВВМ contacts and groups restored completely, there is nothing you have to do. You can do another backup later on. If it didn't restore properly, you can choose from your another backup file. What's is your BBDM manager? Update your BBDM if it's below 7.1 (B41)

Why you always put so many???...lol

No, it's only for BB 9900 (GSM) yours is CDMA, so you have to wait until OS.912 for 9930 comes out

So far I'm loving it! It really DOES lock on lightning quick!!! The only issue I STILL have -- and have always had since RC5B -- is that probably 90% of the time, if I disable and re-enable my "mobile network" connection, it won't be able to connect/find the network until I do a battery pull. I don't understand why it is this way, and it can be very frustrating.

But other than that longstanding issue, even without settling down, this is one quick/responsive OS!

I remember when I update my friend's 9930, there is option to automatically (or not) connect to GMS/CDMA network. Maybe this is related with your problem? Sorry, am just typing out loud

On my end things are running blazingly fast may I add. 861 base with 714 sfi and rc14b. Waiting for it to settle but I already have the coolness of 714 and the speed of 861 plus the magic of rc14b. Thanks

Use the same java base that you've installed RC14B, change the SFI with the .912 sfi and reload it.

Presume that the .912 .sfi is slightly larger than the Digicell .861 as got a bit less free memory with the new load.

Not a problem as the OS is shrunk to within an inch of it's life so still got 31% free instead of 32% !!!

Although obviously still settling temp seems to be lower than .861, currently sitting at 24c.

    Hey Sator,

For my ATT 9810 - planning on installing .861 base and 14B - which is the "oldest" or "farthest back" sfi I can use? (Signal strength on .861 sfi is not the greatest . . )

    Thanks!!
